Agro was a stone gangster and a big earner, was made at the same ceremony as Nick & JoJo Corozzo and Lenny DiMaria. Reading this quote in the Agro thread got me thinking about the more, for lack of better word, famous making ceremonies. I kno about the Jr Gotti, Scars, Skinny Dom one. Any others come to mind?? Thanx!!

Wasn't Gaggi made in the 50's before Anastasia's hit anyway?
-I shot him a coupla' times. -What's a couple? -Hmm, more than a couple... Really I don't know the exact amount, maybe I shot him 10 times, 12 times? -Maybe fifteen? -Hmm, it could've been fifteen...

In October 1960, Gaggi committed his first murder for the Gambino family. He served on a hit squad that murdered mobster Vincent Squillante, the man who probably killed Scalise. According to Montiglio, Gaggi described the murder: “We surprised him (Squillante) in the Bronx. We shot him in the head, stuffed him in the trunk, then dumped him for good.” In this case, “dumped him for good” meant that they hauled the body to the basement of a building, loaded it into a trash incinerator, and cremated it. After the Squillante murder, Gaggi was inducted into the Gambino family.

Scarfo once told his nephew Leonetti that he was inducted into the crime family by Joseph Ida in 1954 or 1955. The ceremony was held at the Sans Souci restaurant and bar near the race track traffic circle in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Scarfo's cousin Anthony (Tony Buck) Piccolo and two maternal uncles Michael and Joseph were also inducted at the same ceremony. His uncle Nicholas had been inducted into the family about five years earlier.
On June 8, 1980 Phil Testa held a Cosa Nostra initiation ceremony at the South Philadelphia home of mob captain John Cappello. At the ceremony, Phil inducted Scarfo's nephew Phil Leonetti, Salvatore (Chuckie) Merlino, Robert (Bobby) Lumio, Anthony (Blonde Babe) Pungitore Sr., the father of future Scarfo soldiers Michael and Anthony, Salvatore (Wayne) Grande, Frank (Little Frankie) Narducci Jr., Anthony (Tony) Casella, the brother of drug trafficker Peter Casella and Phil's only son, Salvatore. In January 1982, at the same induction ceremony of Tommy DelGiorno, Francis Ianarella, Pasquale Spirito, Felix (Little Felix) Bocchino, Joseph (Joey Pung) Pungitore, Eugene (Gino) Milano, Albert (Reds) Pontani, Michael (Micky) Ricciardi, Gerald (Jerry) Fusella, Joseph Sodano and Happy Bellina, his son Salvatore was promoted to captain by Nicky Scarfo.

People can call Sammy every bad name in the book (which he probably is) but prior to ratting he was a very cunning, low-key up and comer. Had he taken over with Frankie DeCicco things would have turned out MUCH better.
We all know it's the circumstances that create a rat.

Frankie loc made in the 50s? Yeah i dont think so Well then, you're dead fucking wrong. Frankie got made in his early 20's, before Apalachin. His Rabbi was a behemoth. Absolute fact. Please don't troll about the Bronx, Extortion. I take it personally, I'll call you on it every time, and we both know that you're out of your depth with me. So please, pick another borough. Or better yet, another city all together .

Especially to the Mascias that were from White Plains. Every Mascia's nickname was Mash. Really original, right? Johnny Mash, Bobby Mash, Georgie Mash, Patsy Mash. One of them married a really nice Irish woman. They called her mashed potatoes. No bullshit . Bobby was a HUGE fucking bookmaker. Died fairly young back in the '90s. Didn't take care of himself. I mean physically. He was a pretty sharp dresser, though.

Frankie Loc was a beast , exactly what CN needed , smart , an earner , killing wasn't first option and super low key , I'm sure he wishes he just would have stayed captain and make his millions . PB was he a traditional rackets guy ? Big sportsbook, table game clubs and shy. His brother Joe, too. Joey Loc never even gets mentioned, but he was almost as heavy as Frankie. But he wasn't as serious. Loved the ponies. Loved them like family lol. And he had a game by the zoo for fucking years. It might have been the longest running game in the same spot that I can ever remember. I did hear the only reason that apt was used is cuz the big guy was sick of the walk talks in the dead cold of winter , lol So what you're basically saying is that those mohair overcoats were a complete waste of money. In the words of Jerry Seinfeld: That's a shame.

Nah, I just meant heavy with the gambling and AS a gambler. But Joe was divested into a lot of legit stuff too. He got in on things like medical imaging and MRI machines early on. Tore is a lot like him. They both took an interest in technology. These are not just street goons. The LoCascios could have pretty much all made it legit. They're bright and business minded. A rare quality in that world. If you want, you can email me on Joey. I'm no longer accepting pms here for obvious reasons. I'm sorry it has to be that way. But it is what it is.

I don't think anyone is even sure when he became made.

I don't know if charges ever resulted but back in 2000 their company (Preferred Imaging), which leased MRI equipment to doctors in New York and South Carolina, was being investigated for defrauding Medicaid out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by billing for unnecessary and non-existent MRI's. I honestly don't even remember the case, Ivy. But it doesn't surprise me at all. They were ahead of the curve in regards to investing in technology. And it was certainly no coincidence that when those imaging clinics started popping up in the Bronx back in the '80s, most of them were in mobbed up areas (especially in the vicinity or Eastchester Road and Pelham Parkway because of all the hospitals and medical clinics in that area). Those imaging clinics were all independents back then, with, um, private investors. And the majority of them eventually sold out to groups like Montefiore for big, BIG money.
