They have credit cards for those with bad credit.
They give you a 700 dollar credit line. They charge you up front for it 150 dollars so it leave with 550 credit line. Annual interest rate is over 30 percent.
Nice scam for people who's back is against the wall. You have to be pretty desperate to agree to $150 worth of debt BEFORE you even make a charge of your own. But these fly-by-night banks are able to get away with it by being based in states that aren't strictly regulated.

Use it make payments your credit score goes up Yeah, I guess. But there are MUCH better ways to rebuild your credit. Instead of answering the ad for First Premier Bank, or whatever they're called, you're much better off opening a secured credit card with a reputable bank like Bank of America or Wells Fargo. Your line of credit is equal to your initial deposit, and they report to all three major credit agencies. But that's only if your sole motivation is rebuilding your credit. If you're desperate, like you said, you'll pay the $150 to get the $550. It's sad. It's also the reason that most low income people never break the poverty cycle.

The danger in that is that most of our habits...eating,spending,lifestyle are pretty much copied from the people who raise us. It's a vicious cycle, like the revolving door to prison passed on from fathers to sons. But neither am I excusing it a hundred percent, either. It's up to the individual to break the chain. We can only blame what we were born into to a degree.

Wasn't meant as a excuse as we are conscious adults, but say...people who earn tons more than their parents ever did....yet end up with no assets.....like some pro athletes...or people who are first generation professionals drowning in debt.

I've skimmed articles about how some Native American/indigenous groups here are able to loan money and charge rates that are basically shylock rates.
Not complaining and more power to them...but legally how are the able to do this?
As Americans we have VERY little taught to us in public school system about financial literacy. The danger in that is that most of our habits...eating,spending,lifestyle are pretty much copied from the people who raise us. Poorer people are going to feel the consequences of bad money habits sooner than others the bad money habits eventually catch up to everybody.
Payday loans, check cashing joints, rent-a centers just provide services to people Gets, good question, my guess would be its legal for a couple of reasons, first The Natives business sits on reservation land which the feds have little control over and also the gray areas of the interstate commerce laws as they apply to the internet. There are several casinos down here on reservation land, lots of folks go there to buy their cigarettes because the Natives don't pay any taxes personally and business wise however the feds make sure they get a piece of their casino operations even though they are on resevation land.

I bet any amount of wampum if these loans are made by Indians their biggest customers are other poor Indians. It's the American way to exploit your own kind. Just like wiseguys have always exploited other poor Italian Americans.

Really I think I have some Indian blood in me some where. If I send the tribe a suit case can they fill it up with money and send it back. Foot, There was a Time cover story years ago about Casino industry and Native groups. Sad but funny story was told by one of the subjects. He looks visibly "Native American" and got picked on and got into fights because of people disrespecting him for being who and what he is. Nobody ever helped him or had his back as he was the only "Indian" at his high school. Years later, the casino deals pass and I guess people have to stand in line at some govt. bureau to fill out paperwork to get their share of the revenue. He said he saw lot of people from high school who used to see him get ass beat/ridiculed without helping him standing in line to sign up for the money.
