The nephew of legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese was busted for dealing heroin on Staten Island, a law enforcement source said Thursday.
Frank Scorsese, 39, was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.

He was arrested Wednesday for allegedly selling drugs three times to undercover narcotics cops.

The owner of the body shop where Scorsese works, John Santillo, 55, and Santillo's wife, Lori, 57, were also busted. They face charges of drug dealing and falsifying business records, law enforcement sources said.

Cops raided the Santillos' home Wednesday night and found drugs and guns hidden in closets, behind wall panels and in a safe, officials said.

This is not the first time Frank Scorsese has been in trouble with the law.

In February, he was arrested for driving with a suspended license. He has previously been charged with drug possession, resisting arrest and weapons possession when cops caught him with a knife, officials said.

His uncle Martin Scorsese has directed a slew of acclaimed films, including "Taxi Driver," "Goodfellas" and "The Wolf of Wall Street." He has been nominated for an Academy Award eight times and won once for Best Director for "The Departed."

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Director Martin Scorsese's 39-year-old nephew was one of two men arrested in a heroin-dealing operation that did business out of a West Brighton auto body shop, law enforcement sources tell the Advance.

Frank Scorsese, 39, is accused of doing three deals involving heroin, two of which took place at the auto shop, at 49 Elizabeth St., according to sources.

Sources describe him as the nephew of Martin Scorsese -- the legendary director of "Raging Bull," "Goodfellas," "The Departed," "Taxi Driver," and, most recently "The Wolf of Wall Street." The director has ties to Staten Island -- his brother, Frank, had lived in Great Kills for several years, and the wake for his mother, Catherine, was held at Colonial Funeral Home in New Dorp in 1997.

The auto shop owner, John Santillo, 55, was also arrested - he's accused of participating in one of the three aforementioned drug deals, sources said.

An NYPD spokesman confirmed both arrests, saying that Frank Scorcese and Santillo are accused of selling drugs to undercover police officers.

Police raided Santillo's home at 91 East Broadway in Oakwood Wednesday, where they found two guns, five shotguns, a rifle, and an unspecified quantity of heroin and alprazolam - which is marketed under the brand name Xanax, the NYPD spokesman said.

Santillo's wife, Lori, 57, who was home at the time, was also arrested, the spokesman said.

Santillo was also accused of running an unlicensed auto shop and vehicle dismantler, as he couldn't provide records for his business, the vehicle it was working on, or the parts inside, the NYPD spokesman said.

An employee at the store, who identified himself as Sean Paul, said the allegations were a "mistake."

"That's impossible. I know the man, and he isn't one to sell drugs," Paul said.

"It must be a mistake... They searched the place, and they took him away."

I always wonder about guys who have super rich relatives do these billionaire uncles help out the nephews and nieces or after a while do they cut them out.

i wonder if there is any LCN involvement. all parties involved seem to be italian after all.

Marty was practically on his death bed due to drug abuse - bleeding from every orifice - when Robert De Niro came to him with the script for Raging Bull. Scorsese didn't even want to do it! It was De Niro's pet project. That movie probably ended up redeeming Marty.

Shit. didn't know that. Looking at him now you wouldn't know. But his acting in taxi driver sort of revealed a darker side.

You can really tell he's coked up during the non-concert parts of The Last Waltz. This probably would have been at the height of his drug abuse.

I'd imagine that De Niro was healthy for Scorsese, compared to some of the other guys he was hanging with. Bobby's drive, intensity and work ethic was probably exactly what Marty needed to get his shit together.

no theres no mention of it in any of the stories.I don't think you have to be part of the mob on staten island just because your an italian committing crime. Theres been a few busts of italian guys getting arrested with firearms and drugs. But i think that most likely we are gonna find that most of these guys are junkies themselves including probably this bust.

Martin is poor by comparison worth 70 million.

A lot of rich people don't take care of their relatives for a lot of reasons.

Does the President take car of his brother or is it half brother?

So is Martin going to make a movie about his nephew? Who will star in it? I think I know who will play his uncle.
