I'm going to read the novel soon but I have a few questions. How is the book organized? Is it like the three movies? (mainly thinking about the "flashbacks" in the second movie)

Is the story and details around it the same as in the films?

Looking forward to start reading it! smile

Welcome!

It is 90% the first film, but also includes a section about the flashback from GFII with Young Vito, Tessio, Clemenza & Fannucci.

There is nothing about III in the novel whatsoever. As the case with many movies made from novels, the book is more detailed. That is a pro and a con - you'll see when you read it. There are some parts of the book that are not included in the movie - again that is good and bad.

I have approx. 150 pages left now out of 600. I'm really enjoying the novel. I can't do anything but recommend the book to my friends and other who enjoyed the movies. smile

Can I ask - how come your name is Al. Neri if you've not read the book yet? he's a great character in the book - and in my opinion, not utilised enough in the film.

"Neri, take a train to Rome. Light a candle for the Archbishop." - Vincenzo Corleone

"But if he betrays me your prayers will not be swift enough to catch him on his way to hell." - Salvatore Guiliano
