Does anyone have a picture or info on decavalcante acting boss Francesco frank guarraci ?? He seems to have done a decent job while official boss john riggi has been in prison . Not much seems to be known about him and he seems to be a low key guy

thanks to JD on TBH for this.

thats Frank Guarraci on the left along with fellow decavalcante members carl corsentino and Paul Farina.

Ya hes been pretty low key besides that whole thing with him trying to shake down a pizzeria himself in person, maybe after this he learned that its better to send an underling.

Cool pic!

From now on, nothing goes down unless I'm involved. No blackjack no dope deals, no nothing. A nickel bag gets sold in the park, I want in. You guys got fat while everybody starved on the street. Now it's my turn.

He's a zip from corleone. He's a killer, made his money from Shylocking. The arrest in warren county was stupid, but it was more of a misunderstanding than they made it sound. The owner of the place owed him shy payments and passed away and he went there to talk with the son or the manager who got in his face and called the cops. I think he pled out and did no time. Joe Miranda is heavy guy too I've heard but idk nothing about him

actually skinny, hes from Ribera, Sicily. Im only bringing this up because Ribera is the town in sicily where, historically, a lot of members in the family can trace their roots back to, and even now there is quite a few members of the family that are from there including Guaracci. even their popular hangout, the Ribera social club, is named after the town.

This link has a picture of the club. It's on John street in the southeast part of Elizabeth. The address in the caption may be wrong.

What I don't understand about the Decavalcante family is why anyone would want to join it even during the mob's heyday.

I remember seeing in the "mob money" documentary that one of the people in the documentary said that guys from new york who couldn't get made into the five families where going to the Decavalcante family to get made. Whether that is true or not i'm not sure.

However i'm certain that it would be much better to even be an associate within one of the five families(Esp Genovese) Jersey based crews than a made guy in the Decavalcante family.

I could only understand if the guy had family ties to the Decavalcante's otherwise what's the point of being made other than just wanting to be known as a made guy.

Believe me, I wouldn't dare. But we were just looking at Gemini last week. I'd have liked to see what the place looks like from "street view" on google maps.

Leo, there's something to be said for big fish little pond. There are some benefits to a smaller family. Get noticed easier, you're closer to the boss/ skippers, maybe even a little bit less attention.

Frank, the club moved to the far end of Palmer street. The old club was on john street, A few blocks away. It is one of the larger italian clubs membership wise in nj. It's a legit club not a mob club

new jersey can't even hold down their own territory

it ain't because a lack of recruitment pool

the boss shouldn't even know the associate who went to shake down the pizza stand

to make matters worse he couldn't even get the job done

LMAO at bosses shaking down pizza parlors. Isn't Sonny Franzese in the can for the exact same thing?

On a side note, what happens when somebody owes a loan shark money and dies? Are the wife and children responsible?

Don't know why people keep saying Guarraci was "shaking down" the pizzeria itself. Skinny clearly explained what went down. It was a juice payment on a loan. Not some neanderthal protection racket like that article and subsequent posters make it sound.

Franzese was busted for shaking down a strip club, so along with guaracci, then manocchio, and dinunzio who were also convicted of shaking down strip clubs up in providence, i see that as more of an overall trend of how something like extortion which used to be the mobs "bread and budda", is now something that really isnt worth the risk anymore with so many business owners ready to just pick up the phone and call the cops.

The small family did well enough when it stuck to it's narrow niche in Jersey - the construction industry. However, as their grip on it has been weakened over the years, they've had to look to other areas to make a buck.

If one looks at the mob cases over the past several years, extortion in one form or another is still a major racket for the mob. Enough so that I have to assume that for every time they get busted, there are many more where they don't.

No one collects from a dead man. No one pays a dead man. Or a rat. It's only the greedy guys that make relatives pay. I think the reason guarracci even went there was bc the biz was still up and running and making money. But again, if these guys weren't greedy you'd never have wiseguys in jail or dead

Agree with ivy. It's not usually what the Feds make it out to be. Or movies for that matter. Usually the guys getting squeezed bc they asked for help, or owe a bunch of money. Read about the case with carmine francos crew, the "innocent victim" was a carter who ran to him for help. Keep in mind a lot of innocent shakedown victims end up staying around a few years and getting made.

Dinunzio) of the Patriarcas go down for extorting strip clubs, kinda seems like its not worth it. but i see what you guys are saying.

Is Francesco Guarraci still considered acting boss as John Riggi just got out of prison? I believe last week. Miranda is still Underboss, and there is a rumor that Simone DeCavalcante jr. is the current Consigliere, but I don't know how well respected the son of the former mob boss is for that position. Frank is very low key, and is supposed to be a big earner for the family. Think Riggi might step down to let Frank take the reigns or let his son John jr. takeover?
