Who here is a fan of actually reading books on Italian OC? Not just obtaining information from Wikipedia, Mafiatoday etc. etc.. I for one own a goo deal of books on Italian OC and even other types of OC. I enjoy reading and feel more accomplished and thoughtful when posting to this website. Anybody have a favorite Italian OC book? Any suggestions on any that others may have not read?

just so you know this thread should've been posted in the mob film/books/and tv forum section. but I read selwynn rabbs five families and its a great book for an overall factual history of the ny mob. also murder machine and honor thy father are pretty good books if your interested in roy demeo.

I think most people here, at least those who post in this section, have read books on the mob. A lot of people will recommend the same books, i.e. Five Families, Blood & Honor, Murder Machine, Underboss, one of the Gotti books, etc. Those are all great, and I would also include books like Wiseguy, Casino, and Blood Oath, etc. But one thing I've always enjoyed is the books that target what the mob is really all about - not really all the murders and intrigue, as interesting is that is, but the money. Books like Gotham Unbound and Takedown are great for that kind of thing. I'm also looking forward to Al D'Arco's book.
