Ok heres what i am confused about. There's 3 movies made about the Godfather. Theres one book lol. I have read the 30th Anniversary Edition, is there another book i need to read to cover the movies or is it all covered in that one book. Hopefully someone can explain, to me the differnce between the 3 movies and the one book. I havent seen the movie yet, but i'm thinkin about rentin it Saturday night.

Thanks Chris

Welcome, Qckrun! If you haven't seen any of the films yet, are you ever in for a treat!
"The Godfather" film follows the novel from 1945 through 1955. "Godfather II" has flashbacks to 1901, when the child Vito's family was murdered and he fled to America, and his years as a young man, through his killing of Fanucci. All of that was covered in the novel. GFII does not cover his rise to power, and Sonny's rise, which were in the novel. However, the film does provide a great sequence when Vito returns to Sicily with his family for a visit (no spoilers!). Most of GFII is concerned with Michael Corleone and events om his lifefrom 1958-60--years that were not in the novel. GFIII picks up Michael and his family in 1979--none of the stuff in GFIII was in the novel.

TurnBull pretty much explained it all, but i thought Vito's visit to Sicily on that business affair(sry you'll have to see it) was covered in the novel, if not i think i just thought it was.

No, it wasn't in the novel. Simply said that Genco handled the importing of olive oil from Italy.

oh all right Turnbull, i wasn't sure, i'll have to read the novel again. I should by my own copy. Which one is the most edited version of the novel ? Did they have a 25th anniversary edition? and if yes is it better then the 30th anniversary edition?

Yes, DJGodfather, i will attempt. The Sicilian is supposed to be a Prequel to the end of The Godfather but a Sequel in a way. It starts off w/ Micheal Corleone not leaving Sicily on the ship that he was supposed to be leaving on b/c he had to find Turi Guiliano, i'm currently reading the book and i really like it. Aspanu Piscotta is Turi's best friend and only friend i'd say is w/ him while they try to Escape Don Croce Malo. It's a really good book that's all i can't tell you so far since i have been negligent to read it and should really return it to the library and i have only read a little more then a quarter of it.

As far as editing goes, they're all the same. But the 30th anniversary edition has a million typos.
