Xbox One has a better game line up and some newer tech with the Kinect, but PS4 costs $399, one hundred less than Xbox One. Xbox One has strict rules when it comes to games. If you buy a game you have to use it only on one console and you can't lend it or sell it to a friend. If you do sell it you have to register it with Microsoft and pay them an additional fee. At launch I will probably get PS4 and pick up an Xbox One a little later on. The games look great on both consoles and the graphics are awesome.

I think ps4 is gonna be on top for this line if consoles just like how 360 was in top of the last line of consoles. I'll provably eventually get both but I'm most likely getting a ps4 first.

The DRM thing with the new Xbox has people confused, as far as the fee goes, you don't pay it, whoever gets the game has to pay it. The $100 difference between the PS4 and Xbox can easily be tallied up to the fact that the new Xbox comes with the kinect. As to the having to have the Xbox check in every 24 hours being a focal point of people's bitching and they all say "well I don't want to have to ask Microsoft to play a game", it's really no different than when you install a game on your hard drive from a disc now. In order to play it if you installed it from the disc is to put the disc in to prove you own it, all the new system is doing is eliminating the need for the disc while preventing people from pirating the game. Once you trade the game in now, you can't play it unless you own a physical copy, same with the new connection system. Basically what happens when you buy a game is you link the license with your account, when you trade it in, that fee that someone else pays is to transfer the license from you to them. The thing is that there may not always be a fee, while Microsoft's first party developers will feature that, they're leaving it up to Third party developers to opt into it or not.

I think all of that is unnecessary and same with the kinect always being on. That's why I'm getting ps4

The kinect isn't always on, you're able to shut it off in the settings, but all of what is unnecessary, the DRM? The consoles already do that now when you install it to your hard drive, you still require the disc to prove you own the game. Same with this system because every game is going to be installed on the hard drive, they have to have a way to prove you own the game otherwise i could buy it, install it on mine, give it to you, and you could install it and play it for free. Every game you play has DRM, the license for it is on the disc, unless of course its a digital download in which case the license is linked to your account anyway.

I'm getting both but i think some of the issues with the Xbox One including having to have an internet connection to play it will see the PS4 sell more.

The thing is, all the people that bitch about it having an internet connection, are bitching on their home computer on the internet, its not like it has to stay connected, if you're playing on your system it only needs to check once every 24 hours, so you can get on, have it check shut the net off and still play.

I'm not sure if this was directed at me but just to clarify anyway, that wasn't what i was doing i'm getting both anyway and it doesn't particulary bother me i was just commenting on why i think the PS4 will sell more.

No no not at you, thats the general bitching you see everywhere when people complain about the xbox. I'll get the xbox because i mostly play multiplayer anyway and i've had my live account for 10-11 years now so i don't see the point in getting the ps4 for that since you now have to pay for the multiplayer on that as well. Plus for the stuff i play i tend to find the competition better on the xbox than playstation.

Xbox One Will Not Require Internet, Restrict Used Games

Nice! Xbox One just got waaay better in my eyes. I have wireless internet in my house, and the 24 hour online check in wouldn't have been too big of a problem, except that once in a while I will bring my console to my cabin where there is no internet and I would have only been able to game for one day. Now you only need internet once when you set up a new console. Also you will be able to trade/sell games just like you've been able to with 360. Thanks for listening Microsoft.

hopefully they stick to that listening to their consumers, i know they were with windows 8 by bringing back the start button so hopefully they do that with this.

I picked up a PS4 launch night. I got the camera with it which was cool and does some nice effects when a robot can come out and fly around your room and interact and stuff. The system looks really sleek. The new controller is way better, making the PS3 controller seem really old. So far the launch games certainly look a lot more detailed, but they still don't do the system justice quite yet. Here's my PS4's new home in my basement.

I got my xbox coming on friday. preordered the day one edition back in june, got the tracking number the other day, and according to UPS they're shipping it next day air.

What games did you get so far? I'm sure the One is already a lot better than 360.

i only bought ghost for it so far since thats what i mostly play, but yea comparing the two back to back, the one plays and looks a million times better. Hell the one is even a million times quieter than the 360, and its got some neat features like the voice command on some stuff is really useful, and the fact that you can go to the home menu (xbox dashboard) without having to stop your gameplay and pick up where you left off is great. Some of the stuff isn't as simple as the 360 to set up, but overall i like it alot more.

Xbox One does look a lot easier to pop in and out of gameplay and navigate menus than PS4. That's good they quited the system down compared to 360, that thing was louder than a fridge.

My 360 isn't that loud, then again its the MW3 edition S console but yea the new one is wicked quiet. So quiet that if i don't see the kinect light on and i'm on a different input, i never know if its on or off. I'll be glad when the adaptors come out next year so i can go back to using my astros for the game/voice audio, instead of just the game audio and having to use the regular mic for voice.

got my ps4 after a day at the bookings love it so far Killzone looks amazing and MGS ground zeroes too call of duty ghosts is ok too never been into first person shooters that much The Playroom APP is a cool feature too
