The murder of Raymond "Long John" Martorano is still an open investigation after 10 years. Police are hoping to get enough evidence to bring the murder into the upcoming trial of alleged mob boss Joseph Ligambi and his associates.

As bad as Philly has been the past 10 years or so with the street thugs committing amurder a day people like Ligambi are needed in philly to regulate the things that are impacting the daily lives of good citizens in Philadelphia. Murder rate in philly right now is high like it was a few years ago. Its always high though but really bad so far this year. A murder a day basically this year but it doesn't matter who is on the streets for the mafia or how big or small they are, the murder rate would be no different. Its just the changing of the times and like merlino said its mainly the north and west of the city which the mob hasn't had any control of since the 70s basically if at all.

The murder rate got a great kick start here because it has been rather warm all winter. Lucky for us that live in South Philly we have nothing to really worry about south of Snyder ave. I don't think we had more than 4 or 5 murders in that area in the last 5 years aside from a bar stabbing and the alleged mob hit 2 summers ago.

I live in Girard Estate and the last murder I can recall was the Phil Testa hit over 30 years ago.

me too, seems like some peoples definition of contributions are to troll a message board all pilled up.

NYC is safer because they have put a lot more people on food stamps(now 20% of City) so they're less likely to commit violent crimes.

Plus, the minority population is leaving NYC for Suffolk, Poconos, "Upstate" and being replaced by hipsters, or "model minorities" who are less likely to commit violent crimes, like Asians and Indians.

I know it was a joke, so naturally I'm going to say something back. I'm assuming you've been around for awhile so that's why I asked you if you knew that person. He owns a lot of nice properties. One of my family members rents from him, that's why I sent you a PM. He was involved with the life and did 10 years back in the Hay-Day. BTW I was involved in a serious motorcycle accident and in a coma.. but within due time I was progressive and made the best out of a bad situation.
