Tommasino?? Yes he was a loyal friend to Vito.

What exactly was his injury because he was seen both walking and in a wheelchair during pt 1

Wasn't Tommasino shot in the legs when Vito Killed Don Ciccio?

But if Clemenza can figure a way to have a weapon planted there for me then I'll kill 'em both.

Yes, that was in GF2. Vito took his family on a trip to Sicily and exacted vengance on the two fellows who took him and his mama to see Don Ciccio and the old Don himself.

Wow, you sure? I've been watching these movies for so long and I didn't know that. How do you know it's Tommasino?

We know it's Tommasino because Vito yells his name just before Tommasino has his legs shotgunned by one of Don Ciccio's guards.

Ah, I was never that observant, I guess.

Yes it was definitely Don Tomassino who was injured in the murder of Ciccio. Vito went back and pulled himinto the car, and we see him again at the railroad station in a wheelchair.

Don Tomassino is a central character to all three movies. He is someone who Don Vito thought of as an equal, a partner. Michael was sent to Sicily under Don Tomassino's protection, and other than Vito, and possibly his first wife, I don't think Michael really loved anyone as much as Don Tomassino. Certainly Michael learned a great deal from him, and was even relying on him to save his bacon in GF III when Don Tomassino arranged for the meeting with Cardinal Lamberto. It is also at his casket where Michael breaks down and realizes that his life has been a waste.

i don't understand why the assassin priests were walking when Don Tommassino drove by. Why would they risk detection by walking what was probably along way to the opera? And also, why was he positioned so awkwardly in his wheelchair in the plaza area of the villa when Mike et al were discussing the hit in Atlantic City? He was facing away from just about everyone.

When they go to Don Ciccio, Tommasino introduces himself and the oil project before Vito to Ciccio, and says "I'm Tommasino"

Actually, to judge by the conversation they have, I think it was on the way to Don Tommassino's house.

If they were going there anyway, why didn't they continue after killing Tommassino? If it was walking distance away they surely could have reached it before news of Tommassino's death did. To make sure, they could have killed the driver as well.

Speaking of which, the driver was notoriously passive in that scene. He just waits while the assassin argues with Tommassino and kills him. I mean, Paulie protected Don Vito better than this guy protects Tommassino.

Was there a driver in the car? I always assumed (that's my fault) that Don Tommasino was driving himself. They had the car fixed so he could drive. Maybe it was close enought ot he house they took off running, I'm not sure.

As I remember it he opened the back door of the sedan.

Of course, it is GFIII, which I haven't seen too many times, so I might be wrong.

The back door opened differently from American back doors. That may be why it looked like he was driving.

Anyway, Tommasino was a good Don. Maybe even more honorable than Vito. But then again, we didn't see much of him.
