I have been off work today and with the house to myself decided to watch The Godfather again, just for a change wink
Every scene in this movie is magical obviously but the scene i really like(and always seem to forget about) is when Sonny beats up Carlo in the street...
Sonny's rage is awe-inspiring and i howl with laughter every time i see him biting Carlo's fingers to make him let go of the rail lol
Great stuff!
Just thought i'd mention it smile

I like the props Cann worked into the fight scene... the stick, the trash can, what else?

I always love the line at the end of GFII when a young Sonny tries to hit Michael for joining the Marines. In the background you can hear a little kid say "Mommie...Daddy's fighting again....Uncle Michael."

"Io sono stanco, sono imbigliato, and I wan't everyone here to know, there ain't gonna be no trouble from me..Don Corleone..Cicc' a port!"

"I stood in the courtroom like a fool."

"I am Constanza: Lord of the idiots."

One of my favorite scenes in the movie. And after basically leaving him for dead in the street, his last line to Carlo always makes me chuckle : "You touch my sister again, and I'll kill ya!" lol

Did you know that in the scene when Carlo gets beaten up by Sonny, the actor who played Carlo, Gianni Russo, wound up with several broken ribs?

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

the guy who played carol ( cant remember hsi name right now ) was on howard stern a few monthes ago promoting his new record ( he sings some classic italian songs )and he was sayign that in that scene, Caan didnt like him too much and took advantage of the scene and really beat him pretty good. But he might be lying as well, cuz a few of those shots sonny gives him are so obviously fake.

on another note the one single episode i watched of gowing up gotti also had the actor who played carlo going on a blind date with the mom ( whatever her name is ) and she dissed him and thought he was a big joke

This was for years my favourite ever scene EVER EVER EVER. Its been taken over by Tessio's last stand now. but god, the fight still gets me everytime, especially the two close up SMACKS he seems to really be giving poor old Gianni Russo. And the way he breathlessly says 'If you touch......my sister again i'll kill ya', and the way he throws the stick, and the way he batters him with a trash can lid, and his MONUMENTAL GREATNESS. Sonny Corleone is my idol in life. Don't take any crap from no-one. Stand up for your family and what you beleive in. He changed my life

Sonny - Well then, business will have to suffer, all right? And listen, do me a favor, Tom. No more advice on how to patch things up, just help me win, please

I love this scene also. I can watch Santino beat the shit out of that wife beater piece of shit over and over again with a big smile on my face.

Does anyone play a fantasy in their head of Sonny actually going through the causeway and pummeling Carlo to death?

The happiest contest in the world would be to name the most magical scene in the GF and II. No losers.
