I watched 111 yeaterday and finally picked up on how they explained Fredo dying( Connie to Michael he drowned)but is there any mention of waht happened to Tom Hagen ?

They mentioned he died.... I think it was cancer or a heart attack or something natural like that.

michael told the archbishop that he saw Hagen's son (cant remember his name) become a priest but his father never lived to see it , i believe that was all that was said about his death

i knew that obviously i jus didnt want to make you think i knew everytin and wanted yas to test ya own knowledge ohwell lol

anyways i dont think they should of gotten rid of tom hagen i think that is what stopped GF3 being a true masterpiece instead of just a great film

Unfortuntely, according to what i have read on here, Robert Duvall wanted a large amount of money to reprise his roll as Tom Hagen - apparently he read the script for Godfather 3 beforehand?

So they got rid of Tom Hagen - just like they got rid of Clemenza before G 2

Unless a Hagan subplot took a large chunk of time away from the Vincent/Mary subplot, GF III would have still stunk pretty badly with Duvall in it. I love the movie to death, but it was even worse than I remembered at some spots while watching parts of it today on AMC.
