I know that this might have been brought up before but it's something that has bothered me since the show ended. Chris became a capo in season 6 but who was in his crew. At first it seemed like he took over for paulie who got bumped up but Patsy never took orders for Chris. The only people who took orders were benny and Murmur who I don't think were made. Anybody know for info on this I'd apperciate it

Wikipedia has a very cool chart of the Soprano crime family on which you can see all the known members and to which crew they belong.

They were a little haphazard about the details in the sixth season. I mean, even more than Chase's usual "loose ends." Things like that in the beginning were understandable, as the show was still on training wheels, but not towards the end.

Like how they introduced the character of Walden Belfiore in literally the last 2 or 3 episodes. He just comes out of nowhere...

One of the reasons why I'm not really content with the last season. At the start of the season we see Tony almost being killed and then recovering remarkably while nevertheless being killed (at least hinting towards that) in the end. There are too much out of the blue situations in the last season.

A glaring example of that is Chris' death. There was no real purpose to it. No reason. Time was getting short for the series and they apparently felt they needed to knock a major character off. I don't mind major characters being eliminated. That's part of what makes the viewer invested and care about the show. But the way Chris went seemed so random. Not to mention a little reminiscent of Tony and Adriana's wreck in season 5. The things they got wrong in the final season, especially towards the final few episodes when they started rushing things, is frustrating because I think they wasted a lot of time treading water with mediocre subplots through both parts of the final season.

I can't say it enough. Everything was set up perfectly after season 5 for the New York/New Jersey conflict, which they could have easily done in a normal 13 episode 6th season. But, no, they wanted to milk the show for every last dime so they dragged it out. Phil was pissed about his brother being killed and ready to go to war....but now he's content for the time being....until him thinking about the Leotardo name (of all things) finally makes him decide to draw a line in the sand....where we end right back where we were at the end of season 5!!!!!!!!

Disclaimer: All this criticism is coming from a huge Sopranos fan. At the same time, however, now a few years removed from the series I'm able to look at it with a more objective eye and critique it more honestly. I'll always give Chase credit for coming up with the greatest TV show of all time but the fact that he traded quality for quantity, in order to make more money, hurt the show.

Perfect example. All of the sudden he was dead. To kill off an important character in such a way was an insult to both the actor and the viewer.

I'm a big fan myself and this will probably be one of the few series I'm thinking about of watching again. But I definitely agree to this.

** (SPOILERS) **

Over at IMDB, I remember some sort of discussion forum for each TV show. The Sopranos boards are notorious for their infatuation with Walden Belfiore. Mattress, Walden appears in the final 3 or so episodes, trying to reassure Tony that Carlo will make it to his house, and having a good back and forth with Paulie about the orange cat at Satriale's. Walden wanted it to stay, but Paulie tried to order it killed, I believe. Personally I believe Benny is a made guy, because Tony always favors him, Tony promises it to him in the season 5 finale, and by Season 6 he's seen making collections. Murmur is not a made guy, but it's interesting how he started to grow on Tony and grow in role. Starting out as a low level guy for Chrissy then eventually accompanying Tony to the safehouse.

Good points on Season 6! You all summed up my feelings better than I could. The Chrissy thing was desipicable. Oh yes, let's quickly write in two COLLEGE STUDENTS and have them murder favorite character with their car. My other issue was the Silvio thing. You can end a finale on cliffhangers, non-resolution, but you can't end the series on the same note.

Chris being a capo is a example of a small problem I saw with this show. They had way to many capo's in comparisson to the amount of soldiers they introduced. Every1 and there mother was a capo. They had like 5 capos controlling 8 soldiers LOL

Also Chrissy's crew shows how crews start out one made guy and about 7 associates being bought up to be made guys it takes 5 years at least for a crew to have a good made membership

He might have. It seems to me that after Patsy started boosting the cables and the floor tiles from the Massarone construction site, he started reporting to Sil.

I totally agree with Ivy... killing Christopher did nothing for the plot or characters. At this point we see Tony self destructing and killing your own blood for a movie slight is ridiculous (made more sense where he threatened to kill him over the potential Adrianna affair - both as a love interest and a snitch).

I expected a bit more action with the full out war, especially when we all knew it was the final season. As far as I'm concerned any storyline with AJ and Meadow could have been put on hold. They added NOTHING to the story.
