I don't know that much about the underworld in Great Britain, but from what I understand most gangsters there are outlaws like here in the Netherlands. You never really had an organization like the mafia in de U.S. or in Italy. It's more a bunch of loosely connected groups who are largely involved in the trade of XTC, cocaine and marijuana.

Yeah thats the way it is as far as i know. I mean its got to have its pros and cons of being like that, the pros being you dont need to give upto the boss you basically work alone with a few "friends" dont you?

Britain has nothing as complex or as organised as Cosa Nostra but that Terry Adams guy from London is a top player by all accounts

I'm also English, have heard that quite recently the italian Camorra have been operating a bit in Britain. If you read the excellent "Gamorrah" by Robert Saviano he dedicates a chapter to how the camorra set up a cell in Aberdeen of all places and owned restaurants where they laundered money.

Anybody named Terry couldn't possibly be considered a thread.

You're right. There are exceptions. And not only did I forget Terry Malloy, I forgot Terry "Hulk Hogan" Bollea, the world's strongest man.
