Lets here some more opinions with Michael's decisions. If you were in Michael's shoes what would you try to change about his life?

Marry Kay as quickly as possible and move to California, Florida or even Europe before Christmas 1945.

Michael knew full well what his many sins and mistakes had been at the closing of Godfather Part II, and who am I to disagree.

1st it was his rebellious act of defying his father and the family way by joining the Marines. In the flashback to the Don's Birthday party in 1941, we see Michael fully aware that his choice was most likely the wrong one. He sits alone at the table as the rest of the family happily greats Vito. Deep down in his heart, Michael knew his father, Sonny, and Tom were right in believing that you don't go fighting for strangers, they are not your blood. But Michael was young, and young men need to find there own way. It took a lot of pain and loss for him to fully realize this.

2nd was Michael did not marry a Sicilian woman the second time around. That was the style of woman he expected.

3rd was not trusting the strength of his sister Connie earlier in their life. Michal tried to hard to protect her, but she was as strong as any of the boys. If Michal would have just laid the hurtful truth to her after carol's death instead of lying and playing cover up, Connie would have got over it and been true to the family first. Sure she was upset, but that would have gone away in a few days. He should have told her straight out how Carlo helped in her brother's death. If Michal was convinced and had evidence, he could have convinced her. She felt bad and resented Michael for lying to her more then anything. She knew full well that he killed her husband, and she also knew he killed their brother. But when she was older she played along with the lies because she grew to understand why her brother treating her the way he did.

4th was killing his mother's son, killing his father's son.

5th, not teaching his own son Sicilian. Good on Frankie Pentangeli for calling him on that one.

6th was moving to Lake Tahoe! What a remote boring place...

Keep a better eye on the NY Rosato Brothers/Frankie Pentangeli situation. That beef had many problematic ripple effects in GF2.
