If you have ever read Friedman's stuff, he has a tendency to exaggerate when it comes to Russian organized crime. And that's what we're talking about here - the Russian mob, many of which are of Jewish descent. To call them the "Jewish mob" or to tie them to everything from the Anti-Defamation League to Bernie Madoff is absurd.

This looks really familiar to me. But you're a little correct because The Jewish-American mafia had guys like Arnold Rothstein, Meyer Lansky and Moe Dalitz. These gangsters were as tough as they get.

The Russian Mob is a lot different then the Jewish Mob. There's Russians who are of a Jewish background, though. However, most of them don't have any Jewish blood. They have a lot of German Jews too, but I'm sure some wouldn't want you to get them confused with the blond haired blue eyed German either.
