I have always wondered who had opened the curtains in Michaels bedroom.Right before the attempted hit on Michael his wife says "Michael ,why are the curtains open?"
Could it have been Fredo? The scene where Fredo complains about being "stepped over",surely reveals some long,pent-up resentment
which surely was his main motivation for his private dealings with Roth.I could see Roth promising Fredo the top spot in the event of something happening to Michael, and then whacking Fredo when he was no longer needed.Mabye Fredo wasnt so "innocent " after all.The only thing that makes me think that Fredo may not have known that a hit would be attempted on Michael was the late night phone call he got while sleeping where he complained of being lied to,the lie i'm assuming was that no harm would come to Michael. If Fredo did open the curtains in Michaels bedroom, then he must have known that it was for a hit.I know that a lot was going on that day with the huge party and all,and one might think that would have made it easier for someone to sneak into the bedroom to open the curtain, but one could also think that security in the house might have been even tighter because of the crowd, which would lead one to believe that only the closest family members could have walked freely through the house. But if Fredo didnt open them, then who did?

Willy, you've posted on one of the longest-running controversies on this board: what was Fredo's real role, and intent, in the Tahoe shooting? How deeply was he involved with Roth and Ola? How guilty was he? Was Michael right to whack him?

This subject is always worth revisiting. smile Meanwhile, you might want to use the "search" function here to see how we've handled this in the past.

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.
