Hey... I have a little something that was brought to my attention. We all know that Vito used to run Genco Olive Oil company in NY, but (to my knowledge) we never get to know how he did this from the movie.

Now, with that being said, it seems to me that I remember this being explained somewhere (either the novel or deleted scenes maybe???), but I can't remember for the life of me. Getting senile in my old age :-).

The novel. The GFII scene in the office with Alberto and a little later illustrates it a little.

The novel goes a bit more into detail. In GFII we are shown the scene with Signor Roberto and then there is a deleted scene which expands upon the Signor Roberto scene.

Also in GFII Vito goes back to Italy obviously to make a deal to import the olive oil ( probably with Don Tommasino) and then goes to Don Ciccio to get his permission to run the Genco olive oil business between the two countries.
