I'm not a fan either, but I know a lot of San Jose SaberCat fans so this is sad for their sake. Hopefully the league can pull through. Maybe this is in that article you posted JG, I didn't read it, but I heard the players are even willing to take pay cuts if that helps. I feel bad for those guys as well because there aren't jobs open in the NFL for them to go to.

Even though I haven't watched or even followed the sport for a few years I'd be so gutted if it was to end. It's such a fan friendly fun league. I really enjoyed it.
Now it is official. No Arena ball in 2009. This economy is going to take down more than the AFL. I think there are hockey and NBA teams in big trouble.

This is a shame. Gave me some good football to watch when college and NFL wasn't on. I'm a fan of the Georgia Force because their owner is Arthur Blank, who owns my beloved Atlanta Falcons.
I'm hearing rumors that if the AFL folds completely, then the NFL is going to jump on the opportunity to start up their own Arena League. And apparently each arena team would be owned by the current NFL team owners. so the Giants would have a team, Steelers a team, etc... Not sure how true that is, but I was hearing that on sports radio.
