There are several mistakes in all three, (but that doesn't take away the greatest of them one bit). However, the actor who plays Young Vito's best friend, I believe his name is Genco, could be seen in the first Godfather right after Sonny gives Carlo an ass kicking. Right when Sonny says, "Touch my sister again, and I'll kill ya", right behind his head is the actor who played Genco in GF2.

I don't know if that has been spotted before. I went to movienitpicks.com and nobody saw hit. He's the same actor who gets frozen in Goodfellas.

Yes, ninodabull...that actor has been spotted before though I don't recall it being mentioned on this list for over a year. Funny though, I never considered it a 'mistake' since in GFII he's simply used as an extra in a crowd scene and in GFII he's given in specific speaking part.

Just a matter of the same actor being cast in two different roles. Good catch, though!!

Keep trying, but I seriously doubt you'll locate an error that hasn't been pointed out by somebody, somewhere on this or another list. In fact...someone once posted a link listing at least 50 mistakes for each film!!

Well done mate i never really realised that!

The actor who plays him is in my opinion great, and he has been cast in many mob/mafia related type movies and shows.

I really wouldn't consider it a mistake, I mean FFC also used the extras from Godfather Part 1 for Godfather Part III, there's tons of extras he used over and over.

yeah, I've heard of this 'mistake' before, but I don't recall on what list. I would say it's "tough but not impossible" to find new mistakes.

Welcome, Nino! Hope to see many thoughtful posts from you!
I don't want to rain on your parade, but it's not really a mistake that Frank Sivero, who was merely an extra in GF, got a more prominent role in GFII that had no connection to the earlier film. His career had progressed in the years between the two. Another example: Carmine Caridi, who played one of the Rosato brothers in GFII, turned up as Anthony Volpe, the gangster with the "lucky coat," in the helicopter-attack scene in GFIII.

Hey Turnbull, you stole my thunder. I was going to point out Carmine Caridi too....Heh, Heh....your the man.

Wasn't Frank Sivero in Goodfellas too?

BTW Turnbull, please check out the Horses Head thread, your expertise is needed there.

Yes, he played Frankie Carbone, the guy who ended up frozen in the meat truck.
