I had an idea about more Godfather films. The first would be titled The Lost Years. This film would focus on the years between GF2 and GF3. Pacino would be back as well as Duvall. Of course I'd have to get another Neri. I know the actors are old but the way they did Xmen 3 making the professor and Magneto look younger was a good idea and I would implement the same for this film. I think some of the subjects dealt with in the movie would be the Appalachian Conference fiasco as well as the presidential assassination. Micheal would would deal with Chicago and a Sam Giancana type character as well as a Vito Genovese typr character. It would also give us insight on the death of Tom Hagen as well as the rise of Joey Zasa who is eventually given the Corleone family business in New York.In fact I think one of the storylines for this would be based on how John Gotti gained noteriety in Carlo Gambino's eyes when he punished kidnappers who had killed Gambino's nephew. Zasa would do something similar for Mike with his nephews which could explain why in GF3 they were missing.

As far as a Godfather 4 movie. I think it would be based on Vincent and his control of the family. The family would get into drugs along with the boss from Florida who has connections with the CIA (who was involved in big drug and money laundering schemes in South america and Afghanistan). The pizza connection would be huge in this movie with characters based on Santo Trafficante and Salvatore Catalano and the Zips.

I've begun writing a few screenplays for both and will be posting them as I finish. The one thing I'm having trouble with is whether to make this all one movie telling both stories in flashbacks similar to GF2 or if the Lost Years should be one movie and GF4 should be another with flashbacks to Sonny Corleone's rise to power.

I toyed around with a script that had Michael out of the family business despite Vincent's attempts to keep him around, and Anthony's spiral into the family business and a possible battle for power with Vincent.

The backdrop would be about Vincent's part ownership in a NY baseball team whose owner wants to relocate to Las Vegas because he's being enticed by a gangster out there who has no love for the Corleone's.

After an attempt on Vincent's life fails, Vincent hides out in Sicily and Michael eventually comes around to feeding him advice on how to deal with his problem against his best wishes.

There are no new characters based on real-life characters accept for maybe a Steinbrenner-esque owner.

About half way through I ran out of steam.
