Too high.... Saves have a net value of 5 points with the potential of losing -3.

5 points compared to 1 is a big difference. And RP's can lose games as well. But if nobody else wants to change it that's fine, I just think RP's are more important than they are given credit for.

Wow, we're up to ten teams now. Who are "Green Batters", "Bronx Rams", and "Crocker Galleria"?

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

With only seven players with less than a week until the draft, I figured I should extend some invites to fill out our league. The four newest teams are:

- Yao's China Buffet - my brother; previous winner of GBB Fantasy Basketball (initials: BB)
- Crocker Galleria - college buddy; has done well in most leagues I've participated in with him (VJ)
- Green Batters and Bronx Rams - my nephew and his friend; currently playing college baseball; I know they have time. \:p (GB and BR)

I've played in leagues with BB, VJ, and GB and know that they will be full-time participants. I've been assured that BR will be active all year as well.

Cool DB, hopefully they will sign up on this BB at least to chit-chat here in this thread once in a while. It would be nice to get to know these guys we are playing with.

If no one objects, I'll ask SC to:

- Go to http://www.random.org/integers/ which will pick a number from 1 and 10.

- The random number generator will pick a number (let's call this number "n")

- Next, he'll go to http://www.random.org/lists/, stick in our team names in the following order (order on my "Managers" page):

Green Batters
Bronx Rams
Crocker Galleria
Yaos China Buffet
Bedroom Bombers
JL
Motor City Kitties
Blibble
J Geoff
Fightin Phils
Douche Bigelow

- SC will click "Randomize" n number of times. The list after the nth click will generate our draft order.

- SC will post the results (the random number and the random list) by this afternoon.

I think SC carried his randomization slightly differently from the way I suggested (I know how to count \:p ), but since both methods are random and unless anybody objects, we will leave SC's results as is.

I've thought about it and I think 1 point is a good landing place. In my opinion, middle relief pitchers get more innings than closers (number of innings per game if not number of games) so they have more opportunities to gain points.

In any case, we had one member wanting 3 points and one member wanting 0 points and a lot of members either not caring or fine with the way it is, so 1 sounds about right.

Commissioner's Note

One of the rules I forgot to mention (the regular players know this so this more for the newer players):

The total number of pitching starts throughout the season will be limited to 162 games. That's why one of the pitching stat categories is "Games Started" so we can easily keep track of this.

Why we have this rule? Position players are limited to 162 games - so should pitchers. Starts by "relief pitchers" will also count towards this category. You sort of achieve the same goal with an "innings limitation" but we don't like limiting innings.

This is a self-imposed rule. Towards the end of the season, I'll start reminding people when they're getting close to the 162 limit. Once you reach 162 starts, you must bench all your pitchers who are scheduled for starts.

If you have any questions, just let me know.

JL - You're picking #11. I believe the #3 next to your name was his coding going from a Random Sequence Generator to the Random List Generator.

Huh - now that I'm reading SC's list, I guess it can be read either way. I guess I know what he meant because he messaged me the list.

I don't see any other way to read it when it says "here are the results", and there's a #3 next to my team.

Since it seems everyone is reading it the way JL, JG and BL are reading the draft list, I'll re-order the draft to the way SC is numbering it. It's all random anyway, so it doesn't matter to me.

Sorry for the confusion guys.
