Posted by David Lambert 12/11/2007 After the last DVD's release this past September, fans have been on pins and needles wondering when - or if - they would see more of The Untouchables on DVD. Relax, G-Men! This morning CBS and Paramount Home Entertainment announced a March 18th street date for The Untouchables - Season 2, Volume 1. Although the studio info hasn't confirmed it yet, we expect the 806 minutes of show on this package to consist of the first 16 episodes, out of the thirty-two produced for the second season. That would mean that Robert Stack ("Eliot Ness") would be joined by guest stars like Elizabeth Montgomery, Norman Fell, Telly Savalas, Michael Ansara, Conrad Janis, Werner Klemperer, Jack Warden, Vic Morrow, Gavin MacLeod, William Schallert, Rip Torn and James Coburn. The announcement this morning is very bare-bones, but stay tuned and we'll bring you further details, and cover art, just as soon as Paramount makes them available! While the studio hasn't officially announced it yet, we've learned from our industry contacts that CBS DVD and Paramount Home Entertainment have given retailers an early heads-up to expect The Untouchables - Season 2, Volume 2 in stores on August 26th. That date is still subject to change, of course...but the studio DID provide it to retailers. No other info is available for this release yet, but stay tuned and we'll let you know as we find out more. For now, just savor the fact that this set's episodes will include great guest stars like Harry Dean Stanton, Keenan Wynn, Telly Savalas, Jack Elam, Ricardo Montalban and Lee Marvin. Nice!
