I just got an e-mail from Amazon this morning saying that they won't be able to ship the book as soon as they expected. Now they're estimating that it'll be delivered to me on 10/26-30.

See, I go to Barnes and Noble just about every Saturday morning. After my ritual to the Arthur Avenue Market, I usually stop at the BN in Co-Op City on my way home. When I see it in there tomorrow, I'm going to be pissed off. That's why pre-orders don't always work out.

I got a e-mail saying it got shipped.

Me too, but I barely browsed it before leaving the house. It does look pretty good.

She (Jenny Jones, the author) saved the best for last.

I haven't read it in detail yet, but from my early perusals I'd say its a good book for any "Godfather" fan to have. Its basically the entire script with little factoids and some decent pix added.

She (Jones) mistakenly lists the filming location of Sonny's death scene, but thats a generally made mistake. Overall, I still say Harlan Lebo's "The Godfather Legacy" is better, though.

I need to pop into this forum more often -- not only for obvious reasons, but I had NO idea about this book until Mig PM'd me tonight telling me my name and this site was mentioned in it!

And what "really grinds my gears" is that the author didn't contact me before publication to make sure things were accurate, cuz we all know my transcripts from 10 years ago aren't cuz I'm a lazy-ass (erm, busy-ass?) F!

Did the author correct the mistakes?

I'm of course honored and appreciative to have even been acknowledged... definitely! ...but to have been consulted and forewarned would've been nice, too...

PS - I should've gotten off my ass and done a book like this 10 years ago!

I'm with SC: this is a worthwhile book, with fine photos and lots of fun-filled trivia. But Lebo's still the Thinking Person's GF Bible.

It was cool using the book watching the GF on A&E last night.

I saw this at Barnes & Noble today for 20% Off...

I finally picked this up tonight. Looks good from the little I read.

I know that the subject pretty much says it all...but this book is gorgeous and a most fitting companion piece to any who love the GF movies. The anecdotes, behind the scenes stories about almost every scene...and even the small nuances (such as fishes being on the doors of the bar that Luca walks into before meeting his demise) have me wanting to watch all three movies this weekend (yes, even GFIII).

This book was obviously a labor of love...and it shows with every page!

I really hope this writer is also going to make another edition about The Godfather Part II.

He would be a hero.
