Can anyone please help. I am flying to Sicily for a week at the end of August. I am going to do some Godfather sightseeing, obviously. Does anyone know where the villa is located that Michael and Connie and the rest stayed at in G3. The pictures and locations of Don Tommasinos villa, where Michael later dies, is a different place, I am sure, though I could be wrong.

Many thanks

Dave

According to Harlan Lebo, most of the Sicilian scenes in GF were filmed in and around Taormina. The town of Forza d'Agro served as "Corleone." Don Tommassino's mansion is called Villa Palatantia, but he doesn't say where it is.

I tried a Google search for "Villa Palatantia" and came up empty-handed. A little additional searching, however, and I found a website called The Worldwide Guide to Movie Locations (click here for their homepage). They have a page listing GF3 filming locations (click here for that page).

On that page it says:

The Sicilian villa of Don Tommasino, where Michael finally dies, is Castello degli Schiavi, near Fiumefreddo, where Apollonia was killed in the original The Godfather.

So here, the villa is referred to as Castello degli Schiavi (which means "Castle of the Slaves"). It is located in Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, which is in the Sicilian province of Catania.

A Google search for Castello degli Schiavi will yield lots of websites and several photographs. Most of the websites are in Italian, but some are in English.

Hope this helps a little. ;\)

"Sure I cook with wine - sometimes I even add it to the food!"

"When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies?"

"It was a grass harp... And we listened."

"Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it? Every, every minute?"

"No. Saints and poets, maybe... they do some."

The locations provided by both Signor Vitelli and Turnbull are correct.

The scenes that were supposed to have been in the town of Corleone were actually shot in a small town in Taormina called Forza D' Agro.

Are you going to Palermo?

CLICK HERE to see the topic that I started over in the general discussion forum about my trip to Italia.

It's simply beautiful!

Don Cardi cool

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

So David, tell us about your trip! Post something over in The GENERAL DISCUSSION thread about it. I would love to hear where you went and what you thought.
