What the heck does that have to do with Brando playing and Italian Mafia Don or Andy Garcia playing an Italian mobster? confused You missed the whole point that I tried to make! Geez!

Plaw, is it me, or does it seem that lately many of the posts in this thread have had ethnic, racial and anti-religious undertones?

Now, geting back to the topic at hand, I believe that creating a Vincent Mancini Corleone was FFC's way of bringing a "Sonny" type of character back into the storyline. Mind you, I am not saying that the Vincent character was anywhere near being a Sonny Corleone character, but it was a smart way to draw interest into GFIII. Looking back now, at the time, think about the coming attractions, reviews, and advertisements for the premiere of GFIII which conveyed the message to the potential viewer that "Sonny's Boy" was going to be in this movie! Certainly that kind of advertising would peak any Godfather fan's curiosity!

Santino's Son In Godfather III! A smart move by the studio!

I know I'm in the minority here, but I liked the Vincent Mancini character, altho I wasn't wild about the Vincent-Mary storyline. But since neither character existed because they weren't in the book......

Seriously though, I like Andy Garcia's work a lot and consider him to be a very under-rated actor.

And one of my favorite scenes in the entire trilogy is the one with Vincent and Grace and Zasa'a hired hands in Vincent's apartment.

Plaw,

Like I said, Vincent was no where near being a Sonny, but I too liked his character, and I had no problem with the way that Garcia acted. I thought that Garcia did a fine job. C'mon, who else could say it better than Garcia......"ZSA ZAAAA!"
As we've said before, GFIII has gotten a bad wrap over the years and was not as terrible as many made it out to be.

perhaps it is you who misunderstood me! you made the comment that Marlon brando playing an Italian, eve though he was American Indian, I posted what I posted because it's what Brando said, He might have been American Indian but there was some Irish in there too. I am not sure why you thought I was trying to do any harm to the ethnic background of anyone, but I always thought it funny that the man who played the Biggest mafia Don in MOVIE history wasn't even Italian...

My point is that GF3 is based on a fantasy.

Hey, maybe in GF4, we'll see Michael, in bed, waking up from a horrble dream.

Boy, won't that be a freakin' hoot?
Yeah, and then he goes to the bathroom and he hears the shower, he opens up the door and surprise!!! There's Bobby!!!

I came, I saw, I had no idea what was going on, I left.

If the dream scenario were to be played out, could Wynona Rider be Mary?
