While I was watching some of Part I today, I noticed something during the Wedding scene. On the bottom black line, some of the top part of it starts to shake, I'm thinking it's part of a bad transfer or something like that. But this only happens when it shows the people outside, and it doesn't happen when it shows the Don in his office. Does anyone know if this is just part of a bad transfer or what? or tracking? confused Also, this is on the DVD Collection, not VHS.

Riley, I checked out my DVD and saw the same thing. I think it must be a function of "cropping" the film for letterbox format. It happens only when there's movement in the scene, as if, during the transfer, they were moving the bottom line manually. It's not noticeable during static scenes, such as when Michael and Kay are at table. I had to sit about 2 feet in front of the TV to spot this.

Thanks for checking that out, Turnbull, that seems to explain it.

After watching the film again and paying attention to the DVD quality more, I think that they could have done a lot better with it. Some frames seem to "shift" and I think that the picture quality could be better. Does anyone agree? But, I don't know, this could have been the best that they could have done at the time. Maybe I will have to check out the new DVD afterall.

Riley

P.S. Yeah, I sit pretty close to the TV when I watch movies, considering the size of my room ohwell .

Riley,

The new DVD is the exact same transfer, so there is no reason to buy it.

I figured they might of touched it up a bit, but thanks for clarifying.
