Orange signifies death?

Just before Vito is shot, he is buying oranges. When he collapses, an orange falls out of his hand. Before Vito dies, he places an orange peel in his mouth. When Sollozzo speaks to Vito, there is a bowl of oranges at the meeting. Jack Woltz eats dinner in front of a bowl of oranges, and we know what happens to his horse! The list goes on...

Correct me if I'm wrong.

The symbolism of the orange was a long running kind of inside joke among FFC and his crew. You can read about this in some detail in "The Godfather Legacy" by Harlan Lebo.

there are a lot of images where you can see an orange, and then, it becomes a death. I don't know why, but it's sure. For example, when they record when Vito is Shoted, they meke it from above, and it's the unic image from there. When the camera asked FFC about that, he said that by this way, oranges can be seen better

During all the trilogy, oranges means death. The colour, the fruit.. DEATH.

I remember the bananas and artichokes, but not oranges!

Here we can see an orange in front of Sonny's Wife. Minutes after that, Sonny is with another woman.



Tessio is playing with an orange and he is murdered for being a traitor.
