Is this only in my case, or has any one else noticed that at some points during the Godfather DVD, the voices tend to echo a bit? I noticed this in the wedding scene of GF1, and just before Anthony was to play "Brucia La Terra" in part 3. There were a few other instances...

I don't know about "echoes," but I have a "tinny" sound in certain spots in all 3 of the movies. One spot I know for sure is the beginning of GF III when Al Pacino is reading the letter from Michael to his children...sounds like he's in a tin can.

I've noticed this in other places in all 3 films. If I get a chance, I'll write down where it occurs when I watch the films and post it here.

I don't know if this occurs only with the DVD Trilogy or in all versions of the films.

There are very pronounced background echoes in the scenes where Michael meets Roth in Roth's hotel room in Havana. Sounds like other voices in a stairwell.

It seems to me more of a "tinny-ness" rather than echoes...

Yes, Tinniness, I guess that's it. The parts where it's most noticeable in my copy is when Connie in part 1 is screaming "Johnnneeee!", and in GF3, where Anthony says "It's authentic Sicilian". There, it's really obvious, in other places, not as much. Any ideas why, this never occured on the video copy?

I dunno...I don't use any advanced digital audio settings (digital optical out) or anything since my home theatre doesn't support it, so I can't attribute it to that...

Maybe just careless remastering of the audio??? I really dunno...

It was most likely the best cover up possible in the remastering. I would like to hear what it sounds like on original tape, and see if there was a crackling of some sort. I'm new here by the way. Hi.
