Nope, there are no subtitles when Virgil Solozzo and Michael speak at Louie's resaurant in Italian/Sicilian. I am not sure whether there have been subtitles for other versions (i.e. Godfather Saga) but for the DVD collection (as well as the TV version), I have never seen subtitles for that part.

Well, region 2 dvd has the subtitles. I can remember what they were talking about so there should be subtitles.

Hmm...the region 1 (NTSC) doesn't.

(*Note* there are subtitles for that scene, but not when they speak Sicilian...i.e. when Solozzo tells McCluskey that he's "Gonna speak Italian to Mike.")

I wish there were subtitles, but Region 1 gets the shaft apparently. frown

i think they did it like that on purpose, cause it's supposed to seem like mike isn't even paying attention to what he's saying and just concentrating on the mission, but in the book they explain what they say, and pretty much sollozzo say that he has a lot of respect for his dad but he was slipping and he tried to kill him but failed and now wants to make a truce.
