Over the past month or so, my love for Jeff Buckley's Grace album has grown to epic proportions, and now it has gotten to the point where I find it difficult to listen to anything else at all. His voice is so beautiful, it is absolutely overwhelming.

Any fans in here?

I love Jeff Buckley. "Grace" is my favorite song of his.

and she weeps on my arm
walking to the bright lights in sorrow
oh drink a bit of wine we both might go tomorrow
oh my love

and the rain is falling and i believe
my time has come
it reminds me of the pain
i might leave
leave behind

I've never heard of him, but I'll be in the CD store next week so tell me: any other songs besides Grace that you highly recommend?

Also, DV, I plan to check out Tom Waits as well, any particular songs that you highly recommend?

For Waits?

Town With No Cheer, Lonely, Make it Rain, Goin' Out West, Jockey Full of Bourban, Tango Till They're Sour, The Heart of a Saturday Night, Watch Her Disappear, Trampled Rose, Blue Valentines, Singapore, Lullaby, What's He Building?

Second best lyricist and one of the most innovative musicians ever.

Thanx, I'll check'em out.

If he's second, who's the best lyricist?

Thank u both. One last question: I remember DVC, that you posted a picture of a female singer saying that you find her very attractive, and then DV said that he's surprised that you like her too...something like that..the thing is I dont remember the thread or the singer's name...just tell me whats her name so I could check out her CD's too.

Cat Power, although I don't think she's amazing. I like a few of her songs though like "Ice Water."

Cat Power's music is very personal. It's extremely raw, intimate, compelling, and distancing at the same time. I absolutely love it, but not everybody can get into her music.

Speaking of which, I would consider Jeff Buckley and Cat Power, along with Kurt Cobain, to be the 3 most talented artists at taking other people's songs and making them their own; translating their style and creativity to someone else's lyrical genius.
