Okay so almost 100% of us here at GangsterBB did not enjoy this book at all, so here's my challenge. Say YOU where picked to write the next Godfather book, give us a plot outline on the major events of your book. It can occur during any time but can not use any of the characters the MW created in the Godfather Returns.

If you see one you like, feel free to let the author know.

My GFR would start off the same way but, I would make it that Tommy Neri would be the one to kill Tesso. I would go into vincents childhood learning about his dad and his family. I make it that Fredo gets into drugs and not dudes hahaha. Michael and Key would make love in Sicily where he made love to apoilona for the first time. In the flash backs to WW2 i would make Michael kill more things then a rabit. And when the Corleones kids where younger id make Fredo a pick pocketer and get caught and the person chases him down and Sonny comes to the aid by killing the man that is beating fredo by having him geting show in the eye (like moe greene would beat Fredo). I would also go into when Tesso turns his back on the family. Id make it that Tesso wanted to kill michael and went to the other family for help. The end would consit of Michael talkin to Antony and Marry. The conversation would be like

Mick: Kids i have something to tell you, im moving out to New York to be closer to you and your mother.
Tony: What about uncle Fredo?
Mick: Tony you know he drowned.
Marry: Thats silly, Tony told me he was killed by that weird man, uncle Al.
Mick: Fredo drowned. He was standing to help pull in a big fish and the line broke and from the force he feel into the water and the poll nocked out Mr. Neri.
Tony: Then what was that noise?
Mick: The poll geting stuck in the perpler.
Tony: LIER! you killed uncle Fredo!
Mick: Tony, Tony, Tony. Uncle Fredo drowned, His body was never found.
Tony: So, your saying hes sleeping with the angles
Marry: dont be silly, angles arnt in water. Fishs are. Hes sleeping with the fishs

lol i hope that wasnt your life's work because it sucked, except for the sleeping with the fishes line, which if reworded would be ver, very good.

Well I for one, wouldn't have added as many new characters as Winegardner did. People wanted to read and like TGR because they like the characters established in the book and movies. Not some crappy new characters that will never be seen again.

I would have detailed more of the "Golden Years" where the Corleone's rose to power after the flashbacks in GFII. They were only referenced in TGR. That is where most of the meat exists. We've pretty much seen all we can of Michael and his ventures past The Godfather, Part I.

Ok liek I said before In a Post about a new GF movie, i would have the Book focus on the time After GF3. Start it with Mary's funeral, Michael's descion to stay in Sicily and Vincent's rise and eventual Fall from Power. the first few chapters would be in Flashback, to chronicle vincents ascent to the strongest family in the world, and to Introduce a few characters(bare with me) All but one of the characters will be secondary, but one will be a soilder who makes his way up thru the family in the early to mid eighties, From the fourth Chapter on the book would mainly focus through his struggles as a soilder, then as an acting Capo, to his eventual role as the Rat that brought the Corleone's down in the late Nineties.

So your really just adding a new character and showing him rise up through the ranks of the corleone family?

hmmm, sounds alot like GF3...

perhaps, but the difference would be most if not almost all of the story is from his point of view, the head of the family would be something mentioned often but rarely seen if at all. and his is a role that is more improtant than GF3 had to offer, because this character is the death of the CorleonE family as we know it.

At this point, I'm not sure it can even happen. I think what we've got is all we're going to get.
