C'mon football fans from around the world and even those who aren't (JG - Uber). It's a real easy game, basically you just pick the winners from each and every game played. Get in through the link below but you'll have to register with ESPN. http://games.espn.go.com/worldcup/frontpage Group - Gangster BB Password - corleone

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

Who is Adak1, by the way? Hi Turi - I am Adak1 - fairly new to the board. Thanks for setting up the group on the ESPN site. By the way, my predictions are more of a "wish list" rather than a realistic expectation. Cheers.

I also joined. . Tell me something Turi, do we make ALL of our picks for each day listed at once? Or should we make our picks on a daily basis? Don Cardi

8 days to go - get in! DC, it's upto you and how seriously you take it. I'll be trying to look at team news and making my predictions as close to the games as possible. Obviously that isn't going to be always be realistic so I'll probably do 2-4 days picks at a time. Poland and Germany are the first teams to play twice (09/06 & 14/06) so I certainly wont be making my second Poland and Germany picks until I know what they've been like in their first games. Also good to have you in mate.

I'm basically going to be choosing my predictions like Turi; seeing how the teams are progressing, because I'd like to see as many games as possible, like I usually do.
Also, I don't want my name to be "M. Corleone", as it currently is, so I've changed it to "E Raserhead", but it isn't showing yet on the BB list. Hmm...

Also good to have you in mate. Smart to wait on your picks since Ronaldo has a fever, Gerrard has back spasms, Ballack has a calf strain, Sanchez (Mexico's #1 keeper) is headed home for a funeral, two Italians collected a recent injury, several Czech Republic players are injured and Cisse broke his leg. These all change the odds. Still, the teams that everyone typically picks are pretty deep.

Hey, I watched a game/match (what's the correct term?) this morning. I watched England take on Paraguay. Two thoughts... 1 - Refs call too many fouls. 2 - I love the running clock. It should be instituted in all sports. Question though - what determines the extra time at the end? Why doesn't the game end at 90 minutes?

The ref for the England game was ridiculous. Gerrard should never have been booked.
The game (or match; it doesn't matter) goes on with "stoppage time", or "injury time" for as many minutes as the ball has been out of play. Like in basketball, you don't get it, because the timer is stopped whenever the ball goes out of play. So, add up all the injuries and freekicks and whatnot, and you usually get about three to four minutes added on. If a team is already winning about 7-0 (like England will be in the final), you don't usually get much time added on...there's no point.

I woke up before 12 AM in a saturday for the first time in a looooong time, and the game was not worth it. england sucked. argentina sucked in its opening match too.
