I'm sure he will do you a service. England will never win anything under Sven! Scolari will create an exciting team, and teach you to play with a bit of flair which the team is capable of. Good luck.
"Jonny Tightlips... you're shot! - whered' they get you?" "I ain't sayin' nutin'." "But what'll I tell the Doc?!" "Tell'um to suck a lemon."

as a brazilian who has followed Scolari since he first showed up, I say he's perfect for the job. hell, he's perfect for any soccer team coaching job.
I'm a die hard fan of Sport Club Internacional, the great rival of Gremio, the team which Scolari coached to win, among other titles, the South American Libertadores. this guy is responsible for some of the saddest days of my life. before coaching Gremio, he won Brazilian Cup with Criciuma, a small team who at the time played the 2nd division and now is in the 3rd division. after that, he coached Palmeiras and led one of the most exciting teams I've ever seen, which also won Libertadores.
common knowledge might forget, (because Brazil ended up winning the World Cup in dominant fashion) but when Scolari started, the Brazilian team was at the most difficult moment in its history. me, I don't even root for them, because they always win anyway, and "Big Phil" di turn the team that embarassed a nation into world champions.
I don't like the way he handles the team, but he always ends up winning. I think he motivates his players in a way they're willing to kil themselves to get a win, which is for me, what makes the difference in professional sports, and what might be lacking for most european teams, especially the English Team.

He won the WC 2002 with Brazil, and played the finals of Euro 2004 with Portugal.
They say he playes very defensive, but I don't think that's true.
I mean, with Brazil he played in a 3-5-2, with Ronaldinho very closely behind Rivaldo and Ronaldo, 2 defensive midfielders, 2 wingers (R Carlos and Cafu), and 3 defenders.
With Portugal he played in a 4-5-1, defense consisting out of Miguel, Andrade, Carvalho and Nuno Valente, defensive midfielders being Maniche and Costinha, wingers Figo and Ronaldo, and Deco behind striker Pauleta.
Not really offensive play, but those teams always had a lot of possesion.
See, we can act as smart as we want, but at the end of the day, we still follow a guy who fucks himself with kebab skewers.
