Anyone else agree with me that what David Akers did on sunday shows that kickers can be tough too?

I mean the guy falls to the ground twice in the beginning of the game, after having to rekick the opening kick. Yet he still goes back into the game limps on the field kicks an extra point in the second half then limps off. Then limps onto the field to kick the game winning field goal then falls to the ground in pain. The field goal wasn't that long but still a performance that you have to respect, my hats off to him.

Kickers aren't tough physically. Mentally, they are among the toughest.

Akers went out there because the Eggles had no choice, Mark Simoneau can't kick everytime.

Still the fact that he was able to go out there and make it shows something.

I dunno.....I see them make tackles, knock guys out of bounds, take an occasional hit themselves.....

I'd like to see you out there doing any of that :p

If you want to compare their toughness to a middle linebacker or something, that's different, but I'm sure you'd be happy to be as tough as David Akers.

That might qualify him for the John Madden team.

Yeah hats off to David Akers. I haven't looked up any injury update for him this week but after I saw that final kick I thought he wont be practicing this week.

And what about Jose Cortez? I wonder how he felt having Larry Allen facemasking him.
