Sell: Only because of the hands down qualifier. With guys like Bobby Cox and Tony LaRussa out there, it's hard say to Torre is easily the best manager.
Buy or Sell: Despite all the talk this season about the AL Central finally producing a wild card team, in the end the Twins choke and the drought continues.

Sell: Whether this really will be looked at as the steroids era 50 years from now or not, it has been one of the sports most successful eras in baseball history. Chicks dig the longball, not the feeble swings of pitchers.
Buy or Sell: Since Irishman is going to be answering this anyways, I'll serve one up for him. This Yankees dynasty, as incredible as they have been, will be looked upon with less fascination and lore as other great Yankees teams as a result of payroll.
I agree Irish, it's hard to argue Joe isn't the best manager, but winning 13 straight division titles is incredible, 1 title or not. It's just that the hands down qualifier makes it seem like no argument could ever be made for any one else, and the amount of talent Torre has been blessed with will always leave it open to debate exactly how much Torre had to do with the Yankees success, ala Phil Jackson.

Buy: The injuries will only increase as he gets older.
Buy or Sell: The most unbreakable record in sports is Johnny Vandermeer throwing consecutive no-hitters.

He threw no-nos is back to back starts. So for someone to break his record of two consecutive no hitters, they would have to throw no hitters in three straight starts. So do you buy or sell that being the most unbreakable record in sports?

Sell: The Twins cannot hit their way out of a paper bag. Anyone who they add at the trade deadline will merely be a .250 hitter who doesn't make more than 2 mil. I would have to say Oakland will be the wild card the way they're playing now, but I still wouldn't count out the Yanks. As a Twins season ticket holder, trust me, they're done.
Buy or Sell: The Cubs will win a World Series before I die. (I'm 23 and in perfect health.)

Buy. You figure to live at least another 55 years or so. That's a long time. Rafael Palmiero is a first ballot HOFer(Note to ronnierocket: What aspects of Ortiz' game is there to improve besides hitting? He doesn't play the field, and he certainly doesn't run any faster....)

Sell: It's certainly possible, but in the games I've seen him play as a Twin, he just flat out has no bat speed anymore. I think it has more to do with age than being off the juice.
Buy or Sell: Pudge Rodriguez has passed Johnny Bench as the best defensive catcher of all-time.
(Note: I've got to agree with Plaw about Ortiz. The only thing he's improved on since he's left the Twins is his ability to stay healthy. People always ask me how the Twins could have gotten rid of him, but he was constantly getting hurt. Nobody said a word about what a mistake it was then because it was the correct decision. I still love him because of the sheer joy he possesses, but he pulled a fat every 5th day with the Twinkies.)
