This is my first post here so I don't know if this was discussed before.

I noticed a lady superimposed in the film at the Don's funeral. Right after Tessio says to Michael that he needs to talk to him and as Mike gets up if you stop the movie you can see a lady (ghost?) on the disc. You can see her on other shots at the funeral too. Sorry if this has been written about before.

I'd heard it alluded to on this board, but I myself never heard the full scoop. I bow to my more able comrades...Someone wanna fill us in? wink

Johnny -

This has been the subject of much speculation here in the past. You can do a search of this topic by typing in the word "ghost" and select "All Forums", and you'll see the discussions about the ghostly image. The "Search" feature can be accessed by simply clicking on the "Search" word (above).

My own favorite thread on this subject can be viewed by clicking on this link:

Joey Montana, despite your incorrect, mistakenly authoritative claim that the visage is that of Mama Corleone, the truth is:

No one knows the true answer to this celluloid mystery. Coppola and Willis refuse to discuss it; the presence of such a "flaw" in an otherwise unblemished, immaculate even, masterpiece... Doesn't add up.

And where was Fredo that day?

By the way ... it is Mama, but the image appears on the left side of Michael's suit (his left, our right), as he gets up to speak w/ Tessio at the cemetary. As yet, I have not noticed the image on Vito's casket, but it could very well be there, since it's an exposure flaw on the film.
