You gals remind me of my mom so much, because she's the same way with her shows. I'm like her secretary while she's watching CSI, AI, Law and Order, or whatever else it is, because I have to handle all her phone calls. If I make the mistake of trying to talk to her, not realizing she's watching a show, she goes nuts, and if people are over, no matter who it is, they become her immediate enemy. She tapes most of the shows, because she's usually very busy, and she ends up with piles of tapes that she hasn't watched.

She does so much, and she doesn't have much free time, so I'm glad she gets to do something she enjoys. The only time it gets me a tad bit upset is during times like last week - it was the opening week of baseball, of my Astros, of what I'd waited months for, and she had American Idol going in two rooms (one being the kitchen) - here I am, trying to get my homework done, along with dinner, and I'm running up and down the hallway just to keep tabs on the score.

Oh well. My reparation comes in her allowing me to stay up late for late games and fantasy baseball.

The only time things get done during my shows is during commercials. Everything must get done in the morning on weekends during the summer because sports are on all day. I'm surprised my cat gets fed those days.

SB,I'm watching West Wing and it's the episode where Joey Lucas starts working at the White House. Josh gets Leo and Toby aside and starts by saying "Joey's not sleeping with Al anymore", to which Leo dryly says, "Well, that's a load off our minds". Man, I'm gonna miss that dry sense of humor. He cracked me up.

Oh, I forgot to welcome MafiaJ, or Krissy, to the Ladies' Thread - welcome! What name would you prefer for me to call you?

Zia, you're such a colorful storyteller - I think that's why you're such fun to talk to...I can imagine everything you describe, and I just laugh out loud.

Ahh it doesn't matter, whatever. I'm just here to represent my teams and talk sports with you ladies, which is always fun I imagine, from what I've read so far!

I love football, baseball and some basketball. Definately don't get into golf, and I try hockey but I just can't follow that darn puck. When they say someone's scored I have to take their word for it. hahaha.

Only baseball for me. I loathe football, and find basketball a bit too ADD for me, all that running up and down the court (sorry Zia!). I do enjoy NASCAR, but am not fanatical as I am about my Yankees.

By the way, it's opening day at Yankee Stadium. Hooray!!!

Beth, to go back to WW, I was watching yesterday after work, too. I love that episode with Joey. I love them all. My favorite Leo scene, though, is the one between him and Josh, the "this guy fell in a hole" scene. That and the scene when POTUS tells the Secretary of Agriculture how to pick his CoS: You have a best friend? Is he smarter than you? Then that's your Chief of Staff, and Leo hears it in the next room and almost starts crying. Or when Leo goes to POTUS and tells him that he knows about the MS, and calls him Jed. Favorite funny: Big Block of Cheese Day, and Leo's list that only has Sam on it. OK, that's more than one favorite, isn't it??

All of those scenes are great. The sad thing is the show was always full of funny anetodotes, not with the serious tone of Leo's death I'm afraid it won't be anymore.

Yesterday's show that I mentioned was chock full of funny scenes. Where they're all in Bartlett's room after Leo wakes him up, and Bartlett says "You know what I really want more then anything?" Then Josh walks in and Bartlett says, "Josh walking in isnt even remotely close". And when that Senator, (or whoever he was) tells Sam his boss is ready to set fire to the building (not literally), Sam says, "Well your boss will be in jail because I'm pretty sure that's illegal". Even The West Wing has to have Godfather sayings. When Josh is comparing his, Toby and Sam's plot with Michael Corleone plotting Sollozzo's murder.

Josh: I'm James Caan, Sam you're Al Pacino. Toby you're the guy who teaches Al Pacino how to make tomato sauce". It's all funny. I guess we'll have our DVD copies to remind us of the good old days.

Yes, that GF scene was pretty funny, wasn't it?? I love the idea of Sam as Michael. But as much as I love Leo, and have the hots for Josh, my favorite character is still Toby.

Toby does get to you. He wants everyone to think he's all gruff and no nonsense, but he has a heart. That's the great thing about the show. Can you say you really dislike any of the characters?

Yankees win!! Thanks to my Jeter!!!

JG - Did you hear that they're playing Enter Sandman for Wagner over at Shea Stadium??? There's been quite the uproar over it, but Wagner said that people will just have to get used to it. He's not changing "his" song.

With the Lakers' win today, we're now one game ahead of the Kings (or the Queens, if you ask my cousin :p ) for the 7th playoff spot! I knew they could do it, and I'm so glad it was a home game... I would have hated to miss that. Plus Phoenix kicked some Sac-town ass tonight, so that's just what we needed. Yay!!! I was gonna make some predictions for the games at the end of this week, but let's not jinx us now, shall we?

No jinxes, Zia, OK? Yankees won 12-5 today. I am so sick of not being able to see a game!! They've either played day games, or they've been in CA and the games haven't started until 10 at night. Can't they play a nice, normal 7 pm game???

I feel like I just hit the jackpot... look what my cousin emailed me.

Isn't it fantastic? Wow. When I saw it, I thought I'd better go to the Getty Images site and do a search... I like this one too. Oh Sasha.

Also, the Lakers Casino Night was yesterday in Santa Monica (which happens to be the home city of yours truly). Here's a pic from last night, of Vanessa Bryant. At first I was like "Wow her necklace is so cool" without thinking about the significance of it. Then, I realized... OMG it's a number 8!! How cute is that?! Awww.

Geez, talk about bling!! I need me some of that, so I can finish paying for my stupid pool, which is NEVER going to be finished. They were supposed to finish it this week, and then we got some rain, so they couldn't pour cement. Dammit!!!

Since surveys show that most husbands cheat, might as well get some diamonds out of it.

Does the survey show how many of those wives kill their cheating husbands?

You could count me down as 1 on that survery.

Sorry, instead of diamonds I'd prefer to get some self respect out of a relationship.

Zia, I love the Sasha photo that you linked to...

The one you posted is very cute, as well, but the linked one is just gorgeous. Maybe it's that "live action" feeling that does it for me.

Glad you enjoyed that, Gi.

Man, how fun... I just got back from like 5 hours of L.A. sports. First and foremost (of course) I went to the Laker game against Port, which we totally won. It was GREAT. I went to that with just my bf, because my cousin "had" to go to the Dodger game... he was like "Naw dude, we're playing the Giants. I have to be there to boo Bonds." True, it's an important task. Someone's gotta do it.

So the Laker game is pretty much over, and my cousin calls my cell at like ten o'clock and says, "Come to the Dodger game, it just started, I'll meet you outside with the tickets." Apparently they wanted to wait for the rain to stop (two California teams can't play in a little drizzle, are you kidding?! :p ) so the game started fockin' TWO HOURS late. I'm surprised they played at all, that late; but hey, at least it worked out for me to go to both games. Unfortunately the Dodgers lost 2-1, but whatev, it seemed like they were all just playing fast to just go home, because it was so late.

So I finally got into baseball for a couple of hours tonight, you know how I wasn't really into it yet? Well I'm still not completely into it until basketball is over, but at least I got a taste of what summer's gonna be like, and I remembered that there actually is excitement in baseball. I had forgotten.

Atta boy.

Wow, Zia, you just made me feel guilty about wishing for a rainout over there - when I heard about the rain delay, I was hoping for a DH, since I figured the school kids in my group might miss it. Little did I know what that would've done to you!

Sorry!!! I know, I'm horrible. And I'm remembering now how into it I was last year, even on the BB, I remember being so into the Blue. But the Purple and Gold is #1 in my heart. But I always knew I'd get back into baseball when the time came. No worries.

Btw, the Dodgers/Giants rivalry is SO fierce! Damn. And it's Spring Break, so there were a LOT of people from SF, plus a lot of Giants fans who (I guess) live here anyway. Whoa. Well, I guess the rivalry has lasted like 50 years, it's not gonna die now.
