How about Pedro striking out 12 in 5 innings!

I woke up this morning with nothing to do and went to bed with only half of it done.

Yeah Pedro pitched good and at least Beltran got a hold of 1. It sucks that they didn't win the game, but oh well.

Now you know why the Yanks passed on getting him again. Great job by Randy and I absolutely LOVED it when he struck out Manny & Ortiz!

Yeah it's only 1 game, but what a way to start the season. I especially LOVED it also when Matsui robbed Millar of that home run. I f'n HATE Millar!

Calm down Irish, this is a Mets thread.

Don't worry Mets fans. You have a Yankee at the helm.

My bad MaryCas. No one really went into the Yankees opening day thread (the one where they won) and so a lot of people seem to be in here, so I guess I gotta go to where the people are

Mets - 0-3. WFAN in NY allowed Mets fans to call in and say what ever they wanted. Some were predicting an 0-10 start. BTW, the Mets haven't been 0-3 since NY hosted the World's Fair in 1964. Remember that plaw, SC? Wasn't the Eastern Airlines exhibit cool? Or am I getting mixed up with Disney World?? Nah, it was the World's Fair.

Didn't they have a ride at that world's fair called Carousel Of Progress that they later put in Disneyworld?

I don't think the Mets started 0-10 in '64.

I think you're mixing up their 0-10 in their first year (1962) with 1964, the year Shea Stadium opened.

But sure, I remember the World's Fair. I was 15. I took a girl there - a cute little thing that I met at a cousin's Bar Mitzvah - on my first date ever.

Never even got to first base with her.

Ah, memories. When you get to be my age, that's about all you have left.

I'm not from New York, but my mother is. I still hate John Rocker and I wish him the worst playing for the Helsinki Dolphins or whatever the hell that team's name is.

Thw Mets keep on impressing me.

I woke up this morning with nothing to do and went to bed with only half of it done.

Move him into the setup role, and make Roberto Hernandez the closer. He's been untouchable since spring training.
