For once the New York Giants are making some good offseason acquisitions. The additions of Pierce and Mackenzie add some much needed depth to a dismal defense and O line. And if that isnt enough, reports say that Ernie Acorsi has been meeting with Plaxico Burresse's agent. With the loss of Ike Hilliard, Burress would be an excellent addition.

I know theres gotta be some excited Giants fans here.

The Giants are probably my 3rd favorite NFL team, behind the 49ers and the Jets

Plax would be a good fit there, better than the Vikings, and it would be a good new start for him. As long as his attitude improves - and Eli gets better, which I'm sure he will.

The Giants will be interesting to watch this year.

I woke up this morning with nothing to do and went to bed with only half of it done.

They'll start 4-1 and finish 6-10.....just like they do every year.

Every year??? Try last year.

Last season was very unusual for the giants. Usually when they end up with a terrible record like that, they dont give the fans any hope at all. Last season they did give us that false hope.

I am very impressed at how the front office is showing that they are serious about making this team a good team. Down the stretch Eli showed me signs that he is a natural at the position. I think tht he will only get better with time. The coaches need to get Shockey a bit more involved in the play making. Shockey was definatley under utilized last year. But I believe that Coach Coughlin did that on purpose to Shockey, to help him to mature and tone down the rhetoric a bit. We'll see this year.

Personally, I think that i was the horrible O-line that forced Shockey to be under utilized. He had to stay back and block most of the time. The addition of Mackenzie and the inevitible O-linemen that they will choose in the draft will get Shockey back into the game.

I heard that the Giants were also interested in Kendrell Bell (who would be an awesome addition anywhere if he could remain healthy) but he failed a physical. Hopefully this means he'll lower his contract demands and the Steelers can resign him because our cap situation is dire at the moment.

Apparantly Plax missed his meeting with the Giants due to the flu. Is this his way of getting other teams interesting and increasing his value?

Giants just signed kicker Jay Feeley from the Falcons. Also, there are talks about them picking up either Brad Johnson or Jay Fiedler to back up Eli.

Turi- I didnt hear about Kendrell Bell. I hope to god your right. He would be an excellent addition, and with Pierce on the outside, the Giants would actually have a great set of linebackers.

The Giants signed Jim Miller to back up Eli. As for Bell, the Giants need to spend that money on other positions. They'd be much better off signing Burress or Smoot. I'm still hoping they trade Allen to the Rams for a #2 and sign Smoot.
They'd upgrade the position, get another pick, and hurt the Redskins again.

This guy does not have the interest level he thought he would. I think the market is quickly drying up now that Moss was traded and Mason signed. Teams in need of a WR will most likely look to the draft.

I don't see Plax fitting with NYG. Perhaps Minnesota, but then again, why would they want to replace one great but aggravating player with a decent but aggravating player?

Giants have a lifetime record of 78 wins - 52 losses and 2 ties. What is the Eagles record vs. Giants in playoffs lifetime?

Freddie my friend, you and I will have to make a friendly bet on the two Eagle/Giants game come next season.

That's what I'm thinking and Plax could never fill Moss's shoes. A lot of mocks are saying the Vikes draft a WR anyway with that #7 since they've now signed Smoot at CB.

The Giants got ELi, now lets put up the $$$ for a big time reciever. The Giants lost Burress and thats not good. They should have paid up!

I wanted him too, but it's the best thing that could have happened. Teams have found out he's a bigger jerk than originally thought. No team will top the Giants' $24 million. He's going to now have to settle on a 1 year contract with some team. I hope he signs with the Eagles, and he'll be bitching about getting the ball by week 2.

I personaly think that Plax we'll end up in Minni. I heard that they are offering him a 6 year deal. The Vikes are doing really good this offseason.

NFC North
Vikes
Lions
Packers
Bears

Thats my perdiction

Leonard: I dont know. See, I have this condition.
Teddy: Well, I hope its not as serious as his, 'cos this guy's dead.

Burress is not a big time reciever. I've always liked him, he's good and he helped us out incredibly this last season but he isn't the guy he thinks he is.

True, but with the Giants missing a 1st round pick this year and no other decent WR's out there in the free agent market the G-Men have to do something.
