I agree with Iceman in saying that I hope he pulls a Ryan Leaf. I'm sorry, raggingbull2003, but as a San Diego native, I have to go against you on this one. Making it public that you don't want to play for a team is uncalled for. Kyle Boller said something to the effect of, "The TEAM drafts you, you don't pick which team you play for. That's the whole beauty of surprise in the NFL Draft; you never know who you will play for, and you play for whatever team drafts you."

[/b][/quote]Haha, yeah but I don't blame him, that was Baltimore. :p Only messing, but serisouly, I wish the Chargers still kept him out of spite. Snce when should a player dictate the draft - no sorry, a players father. Collins will be gone and the Bachelor should go hide in a hole. Big Ben at the Steelers. If you told me thatr would happen a month a go I would have been ecstatic. I'm still happy but with the hype of getting Rivers I'm a little let down. I'm also very happy with our 2nd pick of Colclough, that is just awesome.

I forget exactly the criteria, but since the 1960's, only 5 or 6 QBs have won a Super Bowl with the team that drafted the player. So that eliminates Elway (drafted by Baltimore) and Favre off the bat. If you want any more proof that it doesn't take a highly drafted QB to win a Super Bowl, look at the recent Super Bowl winners: Tom Brady, Kurt Warner, Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, etc.

I might be wrong about the date range-maybe it went back to the 70s or 80s. But I do remember that there were 69 QBs drated in the first round during this time frame, but only 5 or 6 won the Super Bowl.

Plunkett won a Heisman, and I'd guess he was a high first rounder as Heisman winners usually are.

Give me a topnotch lineman any day. Open a hole in the line and a mediocre running back can fall forward for five yards. Plunkett was drafted by New England, but was considered a bust early in his career. His two Super Bowl victories came with the Raiders. Doug Williams was drafted by Tampa and won it with Washington. I agree Mary Cas - if I were to start a team from scratch, I draft an offensive tackle & build a solid line as my first priority. Ask Emmitt Smith how important the o-line was during the Cowboys early 90's championship seasons.

The Pack went heavy on defense, but I'm a little skeptical of why trading away picks to get a punter in the 3rd rd? This could come back to bite Sherman. Anyways, congrats to all the Wisconsin Badgers drafted!

I for one am glad the Packers went heavy on defense. The situation with CB Mike McKenzie is getting worse with his refusal to attend training camp, so they could use Ahmad Carroll immediately to fill in the gap. They may have to move Al Harris to the #1 slot, but I'm afraid he lacks the speed to cover it. I hope Sherman makes the right choices in the near future. Only time will tell.
