Anybody else watching this? Was glad Markus Williamus (who I support more than Newctasle) got through yeserday. Performance so far is from Joe Swail in beating Doherty tonight. I was also impressed by Ryan Day's performance against Higgins.

This year's is looking wide open, I'd hate to pick a winner, though obviously I'm going for Williams all the way!

Yeah I've been watcing too, there's already been a few surprises and some very near surprises that some of the favourites struggled. There's also been some handbags out that have been humerous. I'd like to see JP beat Beckham (oh sorry, Hunter) too.

I am in love with that female referee.

I may put a bet on during the quarters for a winner when some people start showing some form.

Could put a word in with that ref if you want!

She's also from Dunfermline, used to have the "pleasure" of going out with my cousin apparently.

Damn. Williams did so well in coming back, but all credit to Perry for pulling through. Jesus though, I look forward to this all year, and the one guy who I follow (more than Newcastle at football) is out in the second round. So, this year there will be a new World Champion. Simply looking at form, I'd go with Ronnie, but Hendry is being tipped also. Hunter's match was a bit scrappy today, but very exciting, and in the end I didn't care who won.

It'll take years for me to recover from Williams' defeat now.

A mouth-watering prospect. Hendry should beat McCulloch (hopefully) and go through to play Ronnie in the semis, who has already got 3 centuries this morning on his way to a 7-1 lead over Anthony Hamilton!

COME ON HENDRY!!!!!!!!!

Haha, you're back up Mick is getting a lesson from Ronnie at the minute who looks very focused. But didn't something similar happen with Doherty last year?

It is also great to see Dott do so well, I like seeing underdogs do well.

He certainly is getting trounced. Ronnie is on ruthless form, and seems to have his head sorted out right now; I've been reading his autobiography at the minute, and it appears that, as long as his head is screwed on for matches, he can beat anybody (apart from Mark Williams, of course!).

Any of our American cousins ever play (or even heard of) snooker? I'd rank it in the top three most difficult sports to master in the world.

I think most people will be avoiding this thread. Out of curiousity, what are the other sports?

I'm not sure, Turi, to be honest. Personally, I'd say it is THE hardest, but I haven't thought about it, so said at least the top 3 just to be safe.

Meanwhile, Dott is proving to be a bit of a handful, though now Ronnie is in front I feel nothing stands in his way now.

Well done to Ronnie. Although I don't really like him that much, much respect for keeping his composure after the Hicks game, and playing some delightful stuff from then on. Gutted about Mark Williams losing his number 1 spot in the Rankings though!

Bit of an anti climatic final. From the beginning I wanted Ronnie to win but when I saw Dott have a chance I wanted him to give Ronnie a good run for his money.
