A great game. The most exciting Super Bowl I've seen, and I've seen just about all of them.
It looked like a defensive struggle, no score for 25 minutes, and then both teams score practically at will. So much for the no-offfense game most of the experts predicted.
After years and years of crappy games, three out of the last five have been terrific.
It kills me, though, how coaches mis-use the two point conversion option.

I thought that each 2-point conversion try was totally warranted, and I would have done the same. Their first attempt came after DeShaun Foster's TD pulled them to within 21-16. They kick the extra point, they're still down by 4 and would have to score a TD to pull ahead. They miss it, they're down by 5 and would still need to score a TD to pull ahead. But if they make it, they're only down by 3 and can kick a FG to tie it. At this point, Carolina couldn't have known that it would become an offensive shootout. The second 2-point attempt was after they went ahead 22-21 after Muhammad's TD catch from Delhomme. If they kick the extra point, they're up by 2 and the Pats can win with a FG. They miss, they're up by 1 and the Pats can still win with a FG. But if they make the 2, the Pats would just be tied if they make a FG. New England's 2-point conversion was also the right call, since it brought them to within 7 rather than being within 8 with the kick.

I don't think the first two point conversion was a good call. The second, yeah [mostly because they missed the first] but the first one was a bad call. 'Cause, sure, if they make it, they only have a FG to tie... If they don't, a TD, and a kick, a TD. But the chance of missing it and having the Pats score [which was a GOOD chance the way they were playing] would bring them down to TWO SCORES. It's all about chance and risk, and in that big of a game, you don't wanna take that much of a risk.

My belief is to go for the two only when absolutely necessary. Like if you're down 21-13 and score a TD, and don't figure to get the ball back.
I've seen two many situations where teans have missed the two pointer, and gotten bitten in the ass because of it.
Carolina had to try the second 2 Pt conversion, as A.L. says, because they missed the first. Being up 23-21 is the same as 22-21, because either way they're behind if the Pats score.
But had they gone for the kick at 21-16, and been down 21-17, when the scored again they would have been up 24-21 with the extra point, instead of 22-21 and forced to go for two again.
Of course, "what ifs" etc, are basically bullshit. Had the score been different, different plays might have been called on both offense and defense. But I do know that when the score was 29-29, Carol had 4 TDs and a FG, and the Pats had only 4 TDS.
The first 2 Pt conversion try, IMO, is what cost Carolina the chance at overtime.
