I know Kittles isn't as good as Houston. I didn't say he was. I said I'd take AI oR Rip over Houston any day. Marbury has never had anyone decent to work with in Phoenix though. I think Shawn Marion is one of the most over rated players in the game and that Marbury didn't get 20 and 8 a game, they'd be one of the worst teams in the league. Oh, that's right, they are. As far as Snow, I think he's the most under rated player in the game. He should definetly be on the All-Star team but people fail to recognize him because he cannot shoot the 3 good. -Pat

Originally posted by Valadius: Sorry dude, but Marbury and Houston are the best. It may be hard to believe, but only two people in the history of basketball have career averages of over 20 points and 8 assists per game- Oscar Robertson and Stephon Marbury. Stephon Marbury couldn't even sniff Oscar's jockstrap. Oscar averaged 25.7 ppg, 9.5 apg, and 7.5 rpg over 14 seasons. Marbury is averaging 20.5 ppg, 8.2 apg, and 3.1 rpg through his first 8. Oscar's first 8 season averages were 30.3 ppg, 10.6 apg, and 9.0 rpg. I'm not disputing that Oscar and Stephon are the only two guys to have career averages of 20 and 8. But that's one of those fabricated stats to try to isolate Marbury with a select group of people to make him sound like a hall of famer. Marbury is entertaining as hell and is a great player, but he does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Oscar.

This was robbery in broad daylight.
As a big Nets fan, and therefore a confirmed Knick-hater, I must say that I'm not too pleased. I do recall the non-existent chemistry between Marbury and Van Horn when both were in New Jersey, though, so I'm holding out hope that the Knicks will still stink.
Best backcourt in the East? If Houston is healthy, and Marbury doesn't look to shoot first before passing (like he usually does, 8 APG not withstanding), then I gotta say the Knicks.
Kidd-Kittles is close. Billiups & Hamilton? Don't make me laugh. Eric Snow? What does he do better than, or even nearly as good as, Kidd or Marbury? And given his shooting percentage, I'd say Iverson is one of the most over-rated players in the game.
Give them some time to adjust to each other, and I think the Knicks are potentially the fifth best team in the East, behind only the Nets, Pacers, Pistons, and Hornets.

Allan Houston will be retiring soon for one thing. And btw, Kobe is a free agent at the end of the season. I guarantee you that a Kobe/Allan trade wouldn't happen. Ever. Ever, ever, ever. Are you Isiah's assistant or something? :p -Pat

whataknow as soon as the knickerbockers get rid of Scott-im trying to lose-Layden, they improve der team. ive always been a knicks fan so i was pumped when i heard the news. just think if "asshole" didnt trade Spree for van horn.
it wasnt a perfect trade tho- they gave up 2 1st rounders which concerns me & penny makes way more than his worth. My guess is the Suns really wanted to get rid of him & said, "no penny, no steph"
It also hurt to see Charlie Ward go. I woulda liked to see them hang on to him as starburys backup. i went to his camp for 2 years and hes one of the best persons ive ever met- he was also der starting PG when they went to the finals
As for Eric Snow he lays it on the line more than any player ive seen in the league- i got so much respect for him. Him and AI make up the touhgest backcourt hands down. dont know if their the best but that might be the BC that id take in a must-win game
