So I live with my stepbrother and he managed to get one of the first shipment, so of course I've played it I was just wondering if anyone else had laid their hands on a 360 yet?

I've played 5 games so far

Perfect Dark Zero - the graphics were pretty damn good, the game play was fine, well in the story mode anyway. The graphics seem a little last gen when you play a death match to me, and I'm not all that big on how it plays in death match,(and I am a FPS fan)

Tiger Woods '06 - Has one great new feature (sorta) there are now crowds of people lining the fairways and if you make a bad shot you can hit them and they fall down in pain. Other than that it is pretty much the same game with only moderate graphical improvement

Gun - A fantastic game, absolutely fantastic in fact the first day me and my stepbrother played this game for like nine hours, great story and voice acting but the graphics well, I think that is just as good a game on the Xbox as it is the 360, it is truly great but not truly next gen

NBA Live '06 - Graphically the most impressive game that I've seen on the 360, I never played the regular version and I’m told that this game is missing features that were present in the regular version. Still it looks the prettiest.

Kameo Elements of Power – I never really played this much, it looked fine probably the second best, the game play was nice a very good seeming platformer.


Overall I find that the launch games for the 360 to be lacking, I don’t think that this is a sign of things I think that there will be truly inspiring game experiences in the near future but I don’t think that not being able to get one till sometime next year may not be all that bad of a thing. That being said I haven’t played Call of Duty 2, Quake 4, and I can’t wait till DoA 4 comes out.

I'm waiting for the PS3, and I can't wait to see next-gen exclusives like the new F1 racing game, SOCOM IV...et al.

Don't worry, launch games are usually like that, after all, many are just ports or games that were originally meant for the old system (i.e. Perfect Dark I believe, many other examples). They will have much better games in the months to come as developers can find out just how far they can push the new technology.

I played a demo for NBA Live '06 at Wal-Mart. The graphics definitely are amazing (you can see the sweat dripping off the players). I've read reviews, and they are all rank the game as pretty mediocre. They juiced up the graphics, but cut a ton of features. I guess they figured people would be so blown away by the graphics that they wouldn't care. Maybe they shoulda tried that for a game that wasn't already on other systems?

I like the controller for the 360, too. Definitely better than the XB's surfboard.

I'm still waiting for PS3, though. Unless Microsoft and ship 10 million units by the time PS3 comes out, Microsoft won't be a true contender in the console wars.

There seems to be a lot of problems for the early 360's.
Overheating, crashing, bug filled games.

I've had mine since launch and, I haven't had any problem. The buggy games happens all the time at launch because they rush to put them out. Alot of the other problems, overheating, crashing, etc. is because people are standing the system up on its side, which the manual specifically says its not reccomended to do that. Other systems that came out that were genuinely problem filled happens, thought he percentage was minor from what I've heard.

I read that there is a lawsuit pending already on the overheating issue.

they overheat because people are putting it on its side and one of the main vents is on the side. I leave mine on for hours at a time and i havent had a single problem with it.

I played it at walmart call of duty2 it was nice, much better than cod2 on my regualr xbox. I will wait until Forza comes out for xbox360
