I was just looking at some of the MMORPG 'mafia'-related games, and noticed a few things. Most of them suck, and most are filled with people who can barely be called 'literate'.

This made me think of creating one such game, but it's more of an idle fancy, as I have no coding experience, and not much experience as staff of an MMORPG.

So, I'm asking - what would you put in a 'mafia' MMORPG? What would you like to see in such a game?

I've read all of the books I can find by Mario Puzo, (save for Dark Arena) and I find most of the games out there lacking...something.

Anyway...what would you like to see in a game like this?

I have no idea what a MMORPG is, but I've always wanted to play a well done organized crime related strategy game. I've given some thought of different rackets and whatnot a player could be involved in, but that was about it.

An MMORPG is a "Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game". A mouthful, to be sure.

Yeah, Ryot I know just what your talking about. There have been plenty of times where I thought about creating my own but, because of my lack of computer skills, it never quite worked out.

Although, I would be glad to join you if you did end up creating your own MMORPG.

Yeah. A server and some coders would be nice. I hate the fact that I want to make something, but don't have the ability to. I swear, though; I wish I could find an MMORPG with staff that have actually read Puzo. I suppose there are a few mafia-esque games out there, but none of good quality - and none with a quality playerbase. Meh!

Yes, there are many out there, but, to my knowledge, there has yet to be one that has much quality. With with a good staff of coders and a stricter member policy, of course with elements more dedicated to the Mafia, a good MMORPG could be born...

That's exactly it. None of the ones I've seen have that. I keep seeing games full of illiterate teenagers. Games that have absolutely nothing to do with the mafia.
