I honestly don't know what could be added to the movies themselves. In a perfect world they would all be on one disc but that's not possible. Then you could have viewing options where you could watch them in chronological order, with or without deleted scenes where they should be, etc.

1. A book of some type, similair to what came with the VHS box set.

2. Include a DVD that had all the music.
3. More behind the scenes footage.
4. Modern interviews with the actors.
5. talk show appearences made during the promotion of the movies.

I'm very happy as it is but maybe some more GFIII extras would have been great.

I like the ch ch ch ch changes in re: to David Bowie. (Big fan here, well his earlier stuff)

I would include a special edition poster. I would
have the 5 disc in a better box, maybe leatherette
like the Epic and GF Trilogy, and include the deleted sceens in the movie to make it a rare collection.

I want everything Oblong said, especially the music. Oblong, it was like you were walking around in my brain while writing this post.

Well to be honest I was a little disappointed with the bonus disc and even the commentary. I would include interviews over the years about the films, especially those done by Brando who is severely absent from the disc, all Academy Award speeches including Sacheen Littlefeather's, all the comic farce captured on camera eg. moons and the incident involving Brando being carried up the stairs, correct dates on the family tree (if it was going to be done it should have been done right), a feature made today in retrospect of all three films and have the audio commentaries include some of the cast and crews thoughts. This would make for the perfect collection, if Part III were never made that is. eek

I would have put the bonus scenes where they belong as part of the move, rather than on a separate disc. I have to think that some of them were originally cut from the theater version to reduce running time or for some other studio pressures. On DVD, there are no such pressures, and many of the scenes, e.g., Vito and sons visiting Genco in the hospital, the killing of Fabrizio, are really important parts of the Corleone family story.

Please take it for what it is. A release of three classic movies on DVD format. Now you can view your old classic movies on your new DVD sytem. The films have not changed. They will be sharper, more colorfull and better sounding. They will not give you anything that you have not seen on other cuts or collections. They may be new to younger posters who did not see the movie or Saga or trilogy or specials. The bonus footage is cut out scenes which help bring these films to a time length needed. There are NO- NEVER Before seen footage added from some mystery Box in some back room hidden away for 25 years. Alot of the bonus has been in TV specials BY FFC or the same facts written in the Godfather Legacy. I do like to watch the films with the directors Commentary to learns a couple of small facts. Nothing earth shaking. I'll watch it that way once or twice only. I for one would love to see a film with all the takes from start to finish of the family history. Nothing taken out.
We have gotten what we have paid for. They are just feeding you the same old film in a new system to watch. They are the ones making a ton of money with a little hype....
