I read that the next season of the Sopranos will start shooting this April. Iam looking forward to the new season but why do they take so long between seasons. I know a lot of people who are not going to even watch this season because of the wait from last season. Anybody have any thoughts?

Why? Sure, its a long wait but its worth it. They mustnt be great fans

There's a lot of reasons, people want a break from constant acting and shooting, actors may have other film commitments and quite frankly I don't want 6 seasons in two year. It's spaced out pretty well and keeps you interested. It builds demand and then the product value increases.

Another reason is because David Chase usually likes to have at least a year to brain storm with his writers and get the finished scripts out and ready. Even though they are still changing them up to the time they shoot the actual scene.

I can confirm that The Sopranos should in fact start shooting in April. My friend works security when they film at Satin Dolls aka "Bada Bing", and he got the call for the upcoming season.

If they are starting the filming in April, why do we still have to wait a year to see it?? Isn't it March 2006 that season six is scheduled?

To be honest, the last time I set foot in Satin Dolls (Bada Bing) was 1989 at my bachelor party. My connection isn't good enough to get me near the place during filming. :p

The drinks are watered down, over-priced, and I have no desire to give strange women wearing bikinis (they don't dance topless like in the Sopranos) my $$$.

[/b][/quote]Not only that, but I wasn't too impressed by the restrooms either. Turns out the ladies room was the dressing (or undressing) room for the dancers. But would I go again?? You bet.. just to say I hung out at the same club that Tony Soprano hangs out in!!

The men's room wasn't much better - how many public johns do you see without a door in the toilet stall?

I've been to a couple of the sites in the city, but never made any special trips. I do have plans to get pictures of the 5th floor elevator at the Hotel Edison, and the 2nd floor window of 128 Mott St. that supposedly still says "Genco Olive Oil Co." Why? just for the hell of it.
