Good Morning Cm.....,
Welcome to the best legal entertainment on the internet. Here is my interpretation of what Mike and Virgil are saying.
Virgil: Sorry to see what that big jerky Mick cop did to ya.
Mike: Thanks, it only hurts when I do anything with my mouth.
Virgil: Now, about the deal. Your father is old fashion and he's a little hard-headed. I think we could really both benefit by this deal. Its the future.
Mike: How do you say.....(then he changes to English)

Of course I'm paraphrasing, but I think FFC left out the subtitles so you would concentrate on their expressions. I'm sure we could all figure out what was being said. The sentiment was important, not the exact words.

Regarding the Tahoe shooters. There have been many theories posted here. Its been one of the top ten topics. Use the search and you can find reems of opinions. What's yours?

Thanks Mary... Tahoe Shooters- for the longest time I had no idea. If Fredo knew that there was going to be a hit on Michael, then it makes sense that Fredo's men killed them. I guess I always thought Fredo really was played and didn't know they were trying to kill Michael so I was always confused.

I believe that Fredo knew what happend and in return covered up his own tracts by having his men kill the shooters. I'm sure Fredo told them where to get in, then he opend the drapes. He also told them a place they could escape and had his own men waiting there for them. Not as dumb as you think I guess....?

I beleive that the shooters were tangled in a net trap then drowned. If you pay attention to what is happening when they find the shooters Michaels men are fishing the bodies out of the water in the background. And i think that Fredo didn't know that it would be a hit. I beleive he only wanted them to spy on Mike. Also rember back to his conversation he has on the phone in bed. I beleive he says "You guys lied to me!" or something along those lines.

"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

I don't know about the Tahoe shooters, who knows, maybe they committed suicide? As for the Michael/Sollozzo conversation, all I can tell you at this point is that Sollozzo keeps referring to the Don and how he was fading, the Don and his old ways, the Don, the Don, tu padre, tu padre. It became too repetitive.

It seems to me Italian is alot like Spanish. I cant speak either but if someone is Speaking Spanish usually I can get the gist of the conversation. The same seems to be true with the Sollozo/Michael conversation. It's been a while but I know he says something like his ideas are antique.

Fredo's telephone conversation script was changed at the last minute though.

Anyone got the transcript of what Cazale originally recorded, before it was (badly) over dubbed?

I just checked the second draft of Part II's script and interestingly enough there is no dialogue for (or mention of) that scene.
