Did anyone notice in the opening shot for the Sopranos season 5 premier the similiarity going on. They show Tony's house outside in the backyard with the leaves blowing around. It look very similar to the opening shot in Godfather III of the Lake Tahoe home. Let me know what you all think

I thought the exact same thing!
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

Very interesting connection. I didn't even realize it when I watched it. But, now that you mention it, the opening is very similar to GF3. I wonder if it was on purpose - probably.
Also, Michael and Kay are separated at the opening, just as Tony and Carmela are in this opening.

Originally posted by fathersson: No, what you really missed was that Tony normally comes down and picks up the paper from the driveway. Often in his shorts, tee shirt and robe. Then you see it and bam it is run over showing you how things have changed at the old homestead. Just like Meadow driving that banged in car with the music boonmiing. No, I noticed that. Funny that they still had the same opening credits with Tiny pulling in the driveway though.

I didn't think about the GF similarity, but you're right. I did notice immediately however, the newspaper and thought of Tony walking down the driveway to get the paper. I wonder why Meadow had such a beat-up car?? I mean after all, he gave AJ a 3,000 (?) drum set. TIS

Because getting bodywork for Meadow's car won't annoy the pi$$ out of Carmela at 10:00 at night... Nick
